I thought we looked, slightly, better when we changed to 4-4-2 today, I've no idea what playing 3 CB's achieves as we're still conceding 2 goals a game at the Mem and all they do is passing between themselves before one of them launches it forward.

442 4231 433 All of these formations suit our squad better than 3421 against a side playing a narrow defensive low block / parking the bus. Amazed Taylor can’t see it. I thought he’d surely change it after fleetwood, I said after that he’d gotten it so wrong it was embarrassing but then last night in his pre match interview he literally said “ we can probably expect the same thing as Tuesday@ and then went with the same formation and tactic??!!!!

You’ve got to move it quick and spread the play from wing to wing to open up a 10 man defence not use a Christmas tree formation that gets narrower towards the attacking end.

I never want to watch Grant or Gordon again. I did see Jevani play football for a few minutes today for the first time this season. Vaughn & Aguilera looked like children, Baggott up top against Burton's giants is a pub team tactic. The only player who looked up to it was Conteh & MT took him off! We have to hope there are 4 worse teams than us this season, otherwise hello Swindon. Utter utter dog poo!

Basic facts:
1. we have lost to two of the worst teams at home in a week.
2. we were not doing this under Mangan with JAB's players. We got results.
3. Taylor's brought players in. He has wriggle room and cannot say "nothing to do with me"
4. We are now as weak as water.
I just want us to get over the line, which is pathetic given where we should be. I guess we have to give MT the summer - he isn't an idiot, he's been successful recently.
After this week there are some players who should never be in the quarters again. Absolute pansies.

Times have been worse at rovers.
We've got an inconsistent group. We've got some talent and we've got some wriggle room in the summer. There isn't need to panic- the team will stay up. But I really think the hierarchy need to learn lessons quick.
It took too long to get taylor in The conteh signing was a messy And we failed to back the gaffer insufficient way during Jan.
If they learn from the above- I have no problems but supporters need to stop pretending we've been well governed...
Totally respect the value of errors but we need to stop giving free passes.

A friend of mine working the game with the boys in blue stood at the back of the away terrace today & watched the Seated burton fans and standing burton fans exchange hand and verbal gestures, both believing each other were fans of the opposing team🤣😂🤣

Would like to see him and Sinclair up top with Martin.

Doesn’t make a scrap of difference does it? It’s down to what our esteemed owners want, you know, the ones that failed to get us a striker . . . Incredible really that since the Loft departure we banked nearly £1 million on strikers and redistributed zero on strikers. Then the Anti Barton fans say ' we ain't good enough '. Work that out ?. Chris Martin doesn’t come cheap. I get he was out of contract but you have to acknowledge that wages are the biggest part and I doubt very much Martin is on less than Collins and loft combined. Just a guess but I don’t CM would work for less than 5k a week.

How could an out of work ageing striker who apparently only wanted to play for a west country team demand £5K a week/£250K a year, it's not like he seemed to be in demand and we had to enter into a bidding war to get his signature.

Just got back..
Hey another fun day out on the Road where it was particularly busy where we were early doors.... hilarious as Weiman thought he'd scored on the early Ipsh*t v West Brom match to spark sheeeeeedhead sheeeeeedhead!
....and one gang of guys remaining silent during that looking very awkward! They weren't out for the football.
At 5pm, neither were we.
Anyhoos, onto less important things:
Beach beach beach....when you're not first to the ball, or sometimes even second to the ball all you need is a few shots on target and one or two will go in.
Anyone who braved Tues night, watched a regurgitation of that, we continued in our pointless way.
It's a frustrating time atm, performances are down, crowds are down, the atmosphere in Mem is down and results are down....yet we remain afloat because of the hard work in 2023. The previous guys have to take credit for this.
Yesterday, I can give credit that no one appeared not to try, and there was no drop in some quality, but there's a huge gap in our vulnerability and confidence that runs throughout the team. I think many feel the nothing to play for is eroding away, and this reflects our 90mins.
If I had to give m o m probably Keeper. Conteh done well. Luca brilliant tackle and pushed forward. I think I'd leave it at that.
All others were anonymous, again the new massive defender Baggot decides to take his time on distribution, LT didn't want to go outside and take on his man, JM anonymous, but he was up front on his own v 3 defenders.
I'll say it again....you have to play 2 up front against these physical teams. But that's where we are.... dysfunctional and apathetic.
MT got it wrong again, his pm comments remind me of JAB in COVID relegation, a subtle resignation to that's where we are. I admire the honesty, it isn't dressed up. But what does it take to get through to the players team club you are disrespectful to the paying public you didn't have only 3 years ago? A 5-6-7-nil beating? It's coming around the corner and I can see frustrations only getting worse before better...
In a few years, wherever we are, historians may look back at this season and ponder...?
Mangham had the best stats in 2 separate spells out of at least 3 managers, and he was promptly not up to the job!?
We are light years behind...

Can't believe some think Brown played well. He set up Anthony Evans for the goal, but apart from that was lightweight, slow and wasteful (in my opinion).
He can leave any time he likes.

Unfortunately, the social experiment bringing in monotone Matt, with his 2024 record so far of 7 defeats in 10 matches, with predictable post match quotes "its a recurring theme" and "it wont change" is wearing a bit thin (one sentence away from his mentors "I cannot do anything with this squad"). As we all trundle down the M4 on Tuesday, to the home of the mighty Stevenage, the thought of watching Gordon, Grant and Hoole does not fill me with too much Dunkirk spirit. The seriousness of this run of defeats cannot be under estimated, the sooner BRFC reach 52 points the better, we do not want to be going into the last four games needing more than a couple of points.

I know it was dreadful, but there were 7 players out who you would expect to start, not counting Rossiter, and 2 who started that were unfit.

Our teams trouble is we are forever coming out of defence. The whole set up is to provide cover and numbers in defence without having the pace to get out if you are all going to defend. I get fed up of the two wing backs having to spend most of their time coming back then having two midfielders defending (generally not very well) and then at the most one player up front on his own. The new centre half is probably the poorest we have had. If we are going to play with pacy wide men then let them play as wingers and support the man up front with proper full backs behind them. We have in recent times had two Managers with an Exeter back ground and neither of them appear to have had a clue between them. Exeter's fault?
