Just wondering, do other clubs share their in-depth business plans with supporters? I have no idea how these things usually work. Depends on the ownership model. In our case we aren't stakeholders, we are merely customers. Unfortunately the dilution of the SC share holding (which is solely down to the SC Share Scheme being a donation scheme) we have no say on any plans. Just sit back and enjoy the delights or effluent they serve up.

If there are stadium plans, community plans, investments, staff changes etc, this stuff is usually shared on official forums and through Supporters club Directors at meetings. We get tweets.🤪

Nail on head here. The teams that do come down from the champ to L1 are usually either the smaller ones, Rotherham for example, the tradition bounce clubs, Barnsley, P'boro, and a basket case club, like a Sheff W, Reading. There is only 1 team currently the same size as us in the champ and that is Rotherham and they are bottom by +15 points and with a better stadium than us, albeit similar in terms of capacity. Teams like Luton and Brentford stabalised, competed and got promoted from the championship because of their management structures within the club at board level, football operations level and then at pitch level. For HAS to come out and say "championship in 3 years" is fine, but he also needs to say how. What is he/the board going to do personally to make sure it happens? What does it mean if we dont make it? Will he walk away because he has run out of money? It's pretty clear to me that the attempt to hike ticket prices means he wants more revenue. The fact WC is only on a part time contract says to me that he hasnt got the ££ to invest in the footballing side this season or beyond. Should he have said that in 3 years our ambitious goal was to be stagnating in League 1 ? I'm pleased they've got ambitions, and didn't expect everything to be spelled out in a single open letter. Many people on here have hoped for a sustainable future, so whether the owners have buckets of cash or not, the sensible solution is to attempt to increase the capacity and build gradually within our means. People wanted communication and some vision, the more optimistic amongst us will believe the championship in 3 years is achievable. It's almost like some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy about something The trouble is, we have heard it all before. Barton was supposed to take us up either this season or next. I just don't buy it anymore. Would have been better to have left that line out of the letter or not put a time line on it

Just a brief statement about how they see us achieving championship status. Loads of clubs do share their vision. Brentford, P'boro, Oxford are just 3 clubs that have come to my mind whereby they communicated how they were going to progress. DMAC takes it one step further and does a monthly podcast and is fully transparent with goings on at the club. For example, take a look at our board of directors. Who is in charge of what? What daily responsibilities do they carry? What is their background? Who do they answer to in the overall structure? Are they able to communicate any improvements directly to us or the SC? Does anyone have any idea what Abdullatif or Tom does now? What about Wael, does he have any input? Who is Abdulaziz Alroomi? Who does he do? Who is Khaled Alkandari? What does he do. Look at Brighton www.brightonandhovealbion.com/club/club/whos-whoYou cant just assume on face value we are going to get to the champ because Hussain has said its a goal. Its no different to me saying I am going to buy Bristol Rovers in 3 years. With no plan or means of execution its just words.

Had the championship target been left out, it would have been the first thing picked up on here with claims they have no ambition and that they're happy for us to stagnate. It's just a letter that's meant to be reassuring of their support and vision, come the summer and beyond we'll see what they do to back that up

Happy to wait for the so called "rebuild" in the summer, whatever that means, just hope the club is not rebuilding itself out of division 2 !, imo the statement yesterday is full of platitudes, which we all know deep down are unlikely to happen any time soon; after all its only taken 27 years to build a fabricated stand with no ancillary services behind the Alton Road end.

16k may sound nice, but as I've already said it seems shortsighted and hardly that ambitious for the space particularly on the east side. If it really ends up being a bolted on extensions of current stands and pillars everywhere. Then it won't be a huge improvement. One of the biggest cities in UK and we don't seem to take advantage of that, or owners realise potential. Everything else in the letter sounds great though. Whilst it’s not the ambition we dream of it’s a world of improvement on tents in the south end for another 28 years with the occasional architectural diagram every now and then. Having been and sat in the new south stand if they could replicate that in the East stand then I’d be made up. I don’t like being on the ends so something like that along the pitch will do for me and would be a vast improvement on what we currently have. I reckon it’ll be an extension of the cantilevered roof either side. I don’t think something like the south stand would be feasible on the east stand unless you started from scratch. Do that and swap the terracing out for seats and you have a proper stand Building more sheds with seats isn't going to grow the fanbase much. Like it or not football is also a 'middle-class' sport nowadays and these customers, especially the well-off families, demand a level of comfort that the Memorial Ground does not offer. There are plenty of families and professionally employed people in North Bristol & South Gloucestershire who would enjoy a Saturday afternoon at the football, but not at the Mem unless the stadium facilities and general match-day experience is drastically brought up to date. A new modern East Stand is needed with the appropriate facilities, anything less is just a bodge and probably a waste of money.

I think if you're getting annoyed at the content of letter you're being a bit unreasonable. There was nothing particularly bad in there.
However- I think it's fair to be annoyed at what was missing and there was a fair bit omitted.
My hope is that this is the start of a more transparent board- with fuller details to follow. Details on the specific roles of executive level staff would be welcomed.

Details on the specific roles of executive level staff would be welcomed. My views on the new owner have been a bit variable since they arrived. Great that they pushed on and got the South Stand done which is more than generations have achieved but the failing of the JCH signing (regardless of whether us as fans thought it was a good footballing decision) worried me somewhat. Yesterday’s statement is just words at the end of the day, whether these come to fruition remains to be seen so for now they are still in favour with me although not 100%. They can chip away at me with some positive actions over the coming months - some progressive transfer activity, a recruitment team, some drawings of stadium plans, then plans being submitted etc…..

The amusing thing is that it won't even have an effect on ST sales. Marquee signings, a solid end to the season, a targeted marketing campaign etc, are how the club should attract new or renewed punters. We get a tweet that took 180 seconds to write.

If it turns out to be a wrap around of the south stand then yes it would be underwhelming. However I firstly don’t think that’s feasible, and secondly I think supporters underestimate what’s possible with an extension and refresh. On feasibility - if they try to extend the south stand around they’d impede on the sight lines from the east stand. We’ve seen what you get if you try and do that, the old bolted on family stand. It would reduce capacity. I think it’s a non starter altogether - you’d lose out on more capacity than you would add. To do it they have to get a roof up to the level of the East Stand. Surely cantilever is the way to go for this. I don’t believe for one second it’ll be like the south stand. On what’s achievable they can include ample facilities in the extended sections. New bars, eating areas. They’ll need to do something as our equivalent to the concourse in the form of the top level standing areas where the pasty huts are will have been removed. They can put a new back section in with lifts for less able supporters - all sorts. You never know they might even replace the roof entirely for the existing sections and cover the as is terracing properly. If the improvement on the south stand is the marker for the level of improvement from a scale factor that we will see in the enhanced areas then I think we’ll be pleasantly surprised. If we’re expecting 30k at the Mem built incrementally then I’m afraid you will always be disappointed in the short to medium term. Itll never happen. Better off going

I for one would miss standing up in the Blackthorn, but do see the need for a complete new stadium.
I was sure someone at some point said rebuilding on the Mem site but turning the ground 90 degrees at the bottom end of the car park.
Maybe I just dreamt that, but if planning can be achieved cant see any reason why knocking down and rebuilding wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Better off going My understanding is all the office based staff will be moving to the Quarters, Changing rooms, showers, etc will then be brought over to the East Stand. The "add on bits" will extend further back into the car park, my expectation is they will also build on the back of the existing stand enabling the roof to be higher all along the old and new bits giving improved hospitality at the back of the East stand. So an entirely new roof. I would hope that the seats in the existing will be replaced to match with the add on sections. Looking forward to seeing the plans as I cannot imagine how the East stand will meet with the South. I think we will be waiting a while though as the letter does say " We will share our designs and plans once we have obtained all the necessary approvals."

I don't understand the line,"We will share our designs and plans once we have obtained all the necessary approvals.". Surely they have to release the designs/plans first so the consultation process can begin to get them approved?
