Can't help but wonder what's happened to Ryan Jones. Seen as a really good signing from non-league a couple of seasons back but now coming up to 22 and yet to get a league game with us. I realise he was injured before Christmas at Bromley but does not seem to be in the squad at Bromley for recent games. Is he still injured or another youngster lost on loan?

I think he scored and played well against Taylors Exeter team in the EFL trophy game so he might be given a chance. I'd certainly prefer him in the tackle rather than Gordon, and going forward as well by what i saw of him at WSM

Thought he was outstanding in the pre season friendlies especially in the Swansea game as was the trialist midfielder who we messed around and then did not sign.

I thought Gordon linked up well with Sinclair on Tuesday, the problem is we're trying to make him into a wing back when he's clearly a full back.

I thought Gordon linked up well with Sinclair on Tuesday, the problem is we're trying to make him into a wing back when he's clearly a full back. Wing back, Full back? I'd bloody well Give Him Back. Can't tackle, gets caught out of position time and time again, a player whose only move, every time he gets the ball, is backwards. A truly dreadful excuse for a footballer. |

Would have to listen again, but I think MT said a youngster may get on the field v Northampton, I would imagine that is Jones if he is back in training.
If possible I would like to see him use some youngsters we have for the rest of the season. Jed was out of the picture at the start of the season, we could have one or two more stake a claim.

Having hosted young players that go out on loan, they train with their loan team, if that is part-time, then they train with Rovers for the other days.

Much more hope now for the likes of Jones now training with the first team along with our other stand out youth players, something Barton didn’t do as mentioned by Taylor this week.
Barton never really spoke to Byron either.
