Why did we release Christian Lee? It says he scored 7 in 9 and then dropped in to non league? I think he only scored 1 goal for us. Against the Sh*t!

Back to topic. Jones and Gordon need to be give a season. We have invested in both. Both are capable of being squad players. Let's give them a chance to prove they can be more, or they move on. Same with Greenslade.

This is why I shouldn’t use Wikipedia for research! Although everywhere I’ve looked says he scored two goals for us. So against City wasnt his only goal!

Yeah no way are we letting him go if he had 7 goals in 9, that's practically Hinton territory

Agree with keeping Gordon.
Still a young pup, probably not on that much money. Still learning and more importantly will start to become more experienced and stronger in the next few years. Will be a decent squad player next season.
Remember he was playing B side (relatively youth team stuff two years ago).
Flash at 25 will be a different player to Flash at 22. To put in perspective, what is he one or two years older than Jones?
A good winger/wide man to pass to in front of him could be the making of him. (Just think of how many assists he would get if all he had to do was pass to EA and let him do the rest?
This season he looks up and sees maybe 2 or 3 blue shirts in front of him marked by 6 opponents. He may go back too much but ball retention must be very high. If the midfield don't show, (other than square or behind) it would be difficult for any full back.

Needs to work on his attacking play - plays too safe too often but that is an issue with the whole team at times with poor movement off the ball and players ‘hiding’. We should look to bring in a new LB and keep either Gordon or Jones as back up and development.

Not sure it’s either or yet. Wasn’t Jones playing in the middle last season? Be gutted if either ended up making it somewhere else after we did all the prep work!

I reckon it’s make or break for Jones’ career at the moment. If we offered him another 12 month extension and he did well on loan in the fifth tier between Aug and Dec he has a chance. To get that extension he’s going to have to be pretty special in training over the next few months as MT doesn’t appear sold on him at the moment. I had high hopes for Jones but his loan with Bromley was clearly a huge disappointment and he must be miles away from threatening the first XI in league one.

Can Jones still play for us if Bromley are paying his wages? If so I think they should see what he is like in our first team with better players around him, nothing really to lose at the moment

I really dont understand the anti Gordon lobby as i have always thought that he is quite a good player. He rarely gives the ball away and ok he can play too safe but that is inevitable when a player is lacking confidence and not getting regularl game time. The only area that i would work on is his finishing because he does get into good positions but never looks like he is going to get a shot away

This is detrimental to a young player at a crucial stage of his career, how can that be right!?!? It's a farcical situation and surely the rules need amending.

Perhaps he should watch a ton of his videos over the summer and also spend hours and hours working on crossing the ball - he doesn’t need a trick or turn of speed just being able to whip a ball in from anywhere in the final third.

He has looked decent every time i've seen him including when he scored against Taylors Exeter side away. Not sure what happened at Bromley but as I said some young players come on leaps and bounds with better players around them. Guess we'll have to just wait and see him bite us on the arse in the future, as DC might say.

Like I said he is young. Experience, plus the old steak and guinness diet over the summer while labouring at a building site would do him wonders. The old ways are sometimes the best. Problem is when I tried to build myself up as a stick thin whippersnapper on the wing, I had too much guinness, too many chips and too many curries! How to make a flying winger into a fat lazy full back!

Thought Flash played well today. Not the best opposition but assisted Sinclair by creating space, and put in some decent crosses.
Very composed of the ball.
I don't know if anyone has ball retention stats but he must be in our top 5.
Hopefully with time, he can only get better and stronger.
