Carlisle signed some very good players in Jan and have given some good teams a run for their money. Why so many have to talk as though they are a pushover baffles me. We beat a tidy side today. Their last win was NYD. They've lost 8 games in a row. Why are some of you lot trying to make out that today was more positive than a scraped win against the worst side in the league? We were home to a side that probably stayed in travelodge last night. A welcome 3 points but keep it real. We are terrible and have serious problems at the moment.

Does anyone remember when you could just win a game and it have no deeper meaning to it? Was never going to be pretty but we got three points and that's all that matters.
Onto the next

You have surely seen enough football to know that means very little. A game we typically would have lost or at best drawn. I’m enjoying some lovely craft ales avoiding the egg ball. UTG

We played Carlisle doesn't change anything but the rose tinters will rejoice and point to how much the club has progressed. 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂 We have progressed on the pitch since Barton was sacked, the league table doesn’t lie.

For the remainder of this dead season can we concentrate on playing our own players? I didn’t see the point in the loanees we bought in during January - if there is no plan to permanently sign or bring any of them back on loan next season I’d rather we concentrate on giving the likes of Connolly game time to determine if he should have a future here.

Pleased to get the win. Not the best game but 2 pieces of real skill - Brown creating Martin’s goal and Scott Sinclair's finish for the 2nd - meant we deserved the 3 points, just!
Obviously short in midfield with suspensions and injuries and it showed today. Fair play to Vale for putting in a shift. Hopefully players back for next week. Conteh was excellent I thought and will prove to be a great signing. UTG.

Socrates. Being easily pleased is a blessing perhaps not something I personally aspire to Who said I’m easily pleased ? Barton had to go and when you’ve got a manager and his staff practically running the club as they were and then you sack them you just know ( if you understand football ) that there’s going to be a lot of the kind of things to sort out that you really don’t want to be sorting out in the middle of the season. Whilst Sacking Barton was a given in my opinion I did think that with all of the changes and upheaval that would bring that it would be likely we would struggle for the rest of the season and perhaps stay around 17th or even struggle more as it was pretty clear he’d signed a lot of aging players in the summer with injury history, but here we are in 12th and closer to the play offs than relegation and yeah too damn right I’m pleased with that considering the turbulence that having Barton and then sacking him caused in our season. It’s easy to say “ i aspire to winning promotion “ if that’s what you’re getting at but how did Barton build a squad capable of doing that ? He didn’t did he , and now we’ve replaced him with a manager that was busy sorting out his own staff whilst trying to also sort the problems and sign players in a January transfer window that is notoriously difficult to bring quality in unless you pay ridiculous prices which I’m glad we didn’t. So there you go. Tell me , what do you aspire to ?

Conteh the difference between the sides.stood out a mile from the rest. Said to my mates, won t be here long, very classy, with a great engine. If we can recruit similar like the owners have said is our intention exciting times ahead! Need the likes of Grant Ward, Hunt and Martin though for some experience.

Far too sensible Eric, expect a ban! Baggott and Vale must be possibles though on permanent deals, I would think .

Not sure what josh vela’s problem was. Celebrated their goal like the thatchers and cooling fx had nicked his last rolo. So dedicating Ss7s strike to him. He was getting some stick from a guy near me on the Thatchers. At that point the Thatchers was so quiet, he would've heard every minute. After he scored, that guy was questioned as to why he wound him up and di apologise to the fans around him. We did notice that the guy ate a pasty and a pie before half time.

I think League One is Vale’s level for the next few years of his career and hopefully he’ll follow the mindset of McCormick and recognise a permanent deal at league one is a better option than sitting within the Chelsea factory. I think there’s plenty better out there than Baggott personally and I’d like to see Connolly get minutes now rather than aiding Ipswich’s player development. The odd season long loan is fine. I just don’t get us signing several during January when the season was already effectively over and parent clubs getting 99% benefit of the loan and nothing really in it for us.

That's all very well young Eric but a bit more difficult when you're the individual that has to make that decision for yourself and your family etc, he's probably on about 4 or 5 times what we would pay him in League one.
