I think that is a leap to go from two bad away performances, one where we created lots of chances but couldn't score and the other where we made two massive mistakes. I invite you to read some of the comments from the Mangan era. I also invite you to look back at previous posts where mistakes by players in key areas of the park has been happening all season. I also invite you to look at the Exeter at home matchday thread where posters talked about losing the dressing room. Next game we beat Oxford 3-1. Let's see what happens on Monday, hopefully they'll turn up at the Mem, if not we might as well all give up as well. I'm not sure you can compare yesterday's non show with anything under AM's tenure, we were lucky we were playing PV and not one of the top 10 sides or it would have been another hammering, if MT hasn't loss the changing room then he must a god damn awful manager given he had a virtually full squad to pick from yesterday. You’re right we cannot compare… it’s worse under Taylor.

We don't know the ins and outs of contracts.
People say play 2 up front (which I agree with) but what if Big John makes 2 more starts which trigger a new contract with a 5% wage increase.
It's been heard of.
We have no option than one upfront. Greenslade has a deal with Oxford City until the end of the season. I think Kofi Shaw is a midfielder, so unless Crama or a n other fills in when he is fit, it just means another player out of position.
Or do we have another youngster coming through?
The set up of the squad with just 3 strikers (JM, AC, HG) at the start of the season and 9-10 midfielders was just madness. Taylor is bearing the brunt of a poor recruitment legacy.

You can't blame our poor team and performances all on Taylor. The recruitment last summer was poor, we did not sign more than one player between the age of 25 and thirty, which is when most players are at their playing career peak. Most of the signings were well past their best or inexperienced youngsters. With the exception of Thomas and Taylor, Barton made some poor signings and now we are seeing the results of that. We had a transfer window to rectify that issue and brought in even more youngsters, which is apparently the way the co-owners want to go in the future. We signed one permanent youngster , Conteh and he is probably our best player.

Agree , and we had only one number 9. Barton was lucky that Chris Martin was local to this area and looking for a job, otherwise we would be in a relegation scrap now.

If recruitment was so poor how did AM get a reasonable PPG return even without a transfer window to bring in additional players? What was MT's excuse at Rotherham where he brought in all his own players?

What was MT's excuse at Rotherham where he brought in all his own players? The ball is played forward by us. To Martin and ? (No one) So we lose possession and the ball comes back at us. Lennie once said Haldane made Elliott. Steve had all the attributes of a Prem player but was not "on it" for 90 mins. If we cleared the ball Haldane may well have run the ball out of touch, or crossed the ball in the middle when Walks and Lambo were 20 yards behind as they lacked pace and given the ball away but the ball was 60 yards from our penalty area and gave our defence a breather. If he was in this side, Elliott would look average as we just don't hold the ball up and it invites constant pressure. As a defender do you stay with your man, go to the ball, anticipate the cross, or follow the midfield runners that our midfield don't pick up. Every game our defenders have to make those decision. They may get 10-12 right but we get punished if we make 3-4 wrong. If we dont give the all away (or have anyone to help Martin, our midfield do their job, it makes defending so much easier.

Who decides to play Martin upfront totally isolated? Why not get Evans to push up and support him or start with Brown in the deep lying No 10 role. It's bizarre you seem to think MT is totally innocent and it's all down to a previous manager, who are you going to blame if it carries on next season? Any team would punish the mistake made on the first goal, the second goal was down to lack of commitment, not players making errors.

I think MT will look to play 3-5-2 next season but he has inherited a side with very little pace up top and no real wing backs
I’ll judge him when he’s had time to sign those players in the right positions, we have a very imbalanced squad and how many games have we been able to field an unchanged side?
Injuries have crippled us all season, need to be ruthless and get rid of the crocks
Identity young hungry players with something to prove
Over to you George and Matt
Will be a busy summer!!

Can't wait for the clear out of JBs sh*te. Lumbered us with pensioners with no hunger or desire and only after a final paycheck - and half the time they don't even play.
Can't wait for the summer for the gaffer to get the opportunity to bring in those who actually want to better themselves and achieve something.
Unfortunately I fear we will feel the lasting remnants of the worst thing to have ever happened to this football club for some time.

RD what a load of rubbish. When JB was here you felt this club was going somewhere. We were in most games we played. The football under MT is the worst since Garner. His interviews are as boring as his football.I take one look at the Rotherham team that he "built" and wonder what did the owner look at when he appointed him? MT is trying pretty hard to take us down this season and if we lose again Monday i fear where the next points will come from. I don't trust the owners and i certainly dont trust the Manager and together i see a disaster but really hope I am wrong.

I literally am not too concerned if the only 4 to stay were Jed Ward, conteh, Connor Taylor and Luke Thomas, had enough of all of them, no one busting a gut for the fans, we deserve better. If we retain the same budget we should be able to build a decent team, like that Sonny Cox at Exeter, and Dipepa at Port Vale.

GF will have to work his magic then if he's going to convince Rovers are a better option than Man U, likewise I assume Sonny Cox will follow Watkins with a big money move.

He took us down to Division 2. Then he took us back to the point that we were in before he took over. You might have felt he was taking us somewhere, the reality was that he did nothing to advance this club.

Or unlucky that JCH's agent messed us around or we might now be top 6 contenders? Funny, we would need more than JCH to get us in the top six. Need a defence to start with, our defence is dreadful, we don't clear our lines, leave to much space inside and outside the box, don't close opposition players down quickly enough and make to many mistakes. To be honest we have not had a decent defence since GC left.

It matters not who owns the Club, who the Manager might be or which Players have been recruited, most Seasons we have a Team who only show up for half of a Season or barely at all. This Club is shambolic at best. Even having The Quarters Training facility it does not help to produce better Players who want to really play for us. The whole charade goes on without end.

I think people forget just how much of a poor singing Jevani Brown has been. He can’t be cheap and we expected him to bang in 10+ and look dangerous. He’s hardly looked league one standard baring a few magical tricks. It feels like due diligence is never done with our signings. They’re either injured or completely out of form.
