Mid table not buying potential promotion winning players - yup!! Thats why we did not renew out season tickets and will pay on the day. Oh 2 be a Gas Head 🙄 You think, as a Club, Ground, infrastructure, we're ready for the Championship?

It's hardly difficult to find the answer if you seriously don't know? Don't bother then, Christ, what's wrong with you? No need to politely answer an honest question when there is an opportunity to be rude and argumentative would be my guess 😁

Regardless attempting to make the top 6 or even top 8/10 is a long way from getting promoted.

We need to balance the playing side with making real progress here. Buying promotion will only lead to more debt on the credit card with little to no longer term benefit.

Apologies I just find it hard to believe a regular poster didn't realise the whole JCH saga is down to his contract expiring this summer. I should have kept my thoughts to myself!!

Topper is a miserable old fart and is never happy 😂. Spent too long watching Rovers, all these false dawns with new owners don't help. Last summer we were hoping to sign the best striker in L1, this season we're told anything better than mid table finish will be a good outcome.

Target of making top 10 is very uninspiring.
See other clubs get new grounds and have a good go at top of the table every season. But it is never us. Oxford seem to be able to compete every season.
Why aren't we able to assemble a competitive side in league 1?

Those who have been watching Rovers from the latter Twerton years are probably happy with our progression. Whereby us oldies from the Eastville years are somewhat frustrated with all these false dawns.

You sense the owners have a plan it's just one of slow progression, I can't understand why you'd buy a football club then decide you're going to spend 5+ years getting anywhere, unless they only realised we weren't going anywhere fast after they completed the deal?

Got absolutely sloshed at a wedding last night and woke up in a confused state thinking we’d signed the big man.
Not sure what hurt more the hangover or the realisation he’s not ours (yet)

Sell a player for money every season and concentrate on Cup runs in the faint hope of getting a top prem side for a few pennies. Mid to lower end budget will need us to find 4 teams worse then us every season and the bookies already have us dangling near the bottom end. Now just need to convince decent players to join us to tie in with the ambition the owners have

I start out each season wanting to get promotion but if we managed top 10 this season that would be very definite progress. Eventually we’ll want to make it top 6 but it’s not much of an extra step from top 10 to top 6. I imagine if we were to get promoted this season it would cause headaches with the planned upgrade to the stadium regards meeting the all seater requirement sooner than planned.

It's frustrating that plans have been repeatedly kicked down the road for boom and bust stuff really. I'm hoping we are building short and long term plans around ensuring the feasibility of the club going forward over everything. I'd argue we're 15-20 years behind in regards to the three things that baggins mentioned.

Why aren't we able to assemble a competitive side in league 1? A club without a plan, joined up thinking and sh** recruitment. We've had plans, but we have changed them too much to suit the managers. Started off with a development squad and looking to to sign young players. That changed completely under Barton though, when he decided to put the budget into the first team squad instead and sign mainly experienced players for the here and now. Now it looks like we are going back to the original method. We need to have a long term plan, that stays in place, who ever the manager is! Yes, the manager needs a bit of say, but that does not mean ripping everything up and starting again every time! I like the sound of our current plan, but hopefully we can achieve it this time and not change as soon as we hit a few hurdles.
