I’d rather take a double relegation back to non-league than have Joey Barton represent our club again. Cheers. I'd have him back in a shot, I'd have him back to be shot. Is that an option? Disclaimer: This is obviously a joke before the JB snowflake brigade start.

Wow, this thread has degenerated into the usual puerile nonsense.
Antony Evans has been consistently our best player and will shine in a team that play proper football. Pompey fit that bill.
Good luck to the lad. He's given us everything. 🏴☠️👍

Will be great choices for a talented footballer.

If the evidence since the New Year is anything to go by, it would be fair to say that we're unlikely to be watching scintillating football under Taylor.

It worked in L1 but I'm not sure it will in the Championship. Bolton would surely be more of a fit to the style that would suit him and im sure some clubs in the Championship are aware of him and on the last year of his contract and may come in and take a chance

Antony is a tremendous player "as we sing he's Joey Bartons man" Joey brought both Antony and Jordi to the club, both imo should be playing in at least the Championship; Rovers have never been able to convince one player to stay and ply his trade at the club, I would be pleasantly surprised if monotone can convince our current pair of players of any note that they should stay long term at Camp MEM. Finally all those Joey haters have got what they wanted, a Joey free zone; I just hope all those who have been saying "we've got our Rovers back" are happy with their new hand of cards, and we can now all, as always, move on bouncing along the bottom of division 1. UTG I remember one player who we were able to convince to stay and ply his trade at the club. Anthony Evans. He was out of contract at the end of the promotion season, there was plenty of interest in him and most of us expected him to go. Lo and behold he signs a three year contract. I’m sure there will have been plenty of other players who Rovers have convinced to stay, but hey, let’s not let the facts get in the way of your argument.

Absolutely nothing to back this up but I wonder if a team like Blackburn Rovers might come in for him.
Can't really see them hanging on to Szmodics this window - his goals literally kept them up. They would need a replacement for that creativity and running. There will be others that will be losing their prized assets as well and will be looking to pacify fans with a signing. Norwich manager was a big fan when we played them earlier in the season too. Think he will move closer home though.
Who knows - nice if he stayed but Good Luck to the lad in the Championship.

Joey Barton hired in 19th place. Finished first season rock bottom.
Joey Barton sacked with rovers in 17th place in league one.
Matt Taylor hired with us in 11th and finished in 15th, with someone else’s squad.
Got to give the guy a chance, it’s madness to say you’d rather have Barton back. Given the second season in League One it’s clear Barton is not fit to manage a club like ours in L1. Taylor kept us up. Not pretty and it was pretty abysmal but we stayed up.
If you can forgive Barton for the sh**e he managed in l1 before we got relegated you have to give Taylor the same opportunity staying in league one.

A well put point , just to be pedantic Barton was sacked 16th btw 😂 But you’re right , he has the summer and first third of next season to prove he’s got what it takes and rightly should be supported. As everyone else, results and league position will define how long he stays 👍🏾
