Far better listen is GasCast with Neno and his crew. GasCast is an excellent listen, kudos to WeAreTheGas and co for a cracking product. That's what listening to John May, Will Cope and co for three years produces Haha, you know it! Appreciate the kind words mate.

Are the complaints about commentary on the radio or iFollow? While they are the same it differs for the listener.

Yet she is getting more gigs on 5live They clearly see a talent there, and when I've heard her during iFollow matches, thought she did very well. We know she's a Yeovil fan and she's never hidden it. She's made it to national radio, good luck to her. Kind regards John Malyckyj It's good news she's made national radio as hopefully means she'll get less local radio work! Although the main issue is with KB who really needs to retire and let the likes of Rodman & Mansell takeover the summerarises role as they both know what they are talking about unlike KB, who just seems like a fan who's been asked to help out as the original summerasier has been take ill.

For those of a certain vintage : Herbie Gillam , Phil Tottle (City) & Colin "goalkeeper no chance whatsoever" Howlett, in my view very good & unsurpassed . As were print media : Robin Perry, Peter Godsiff , Chris Swift & Andy Stockhausen .

Please not the shouty Yeovil fan, she is painful to listen to. Yet she is getting more gigs on 5live Diversity quotas have got to be met.

When Sheridan is commentating, I've noticed that she keeps Keith on track with regards to keeping things football related, we don't get the shout outs for Aunt Ethel's 80th birthday during play.

I truly believe that Keith has become so depressed watching Rovers over the years that he can’t take it any longer. How old is he anyway? He’s sounded 80 for the last decade! As for the girl….just get rid of her she is appalling.

Not really …. I know they read the forum so hoping it gets back to them … Decent commentators please …. More wider fan involvement …. Definitely not moaning I promise : How do you define a "decent commentator"? I did the job for twenty years for Hospital Radio retiring in 22/23, it may appear an easy thing to do if you've never actually picked up a microphone and done it. It's easy to be critical but there is a only a split second to describe what is happening and sometimes things change so quickly you are literally chasing the play. The summariser will sometimes have to "tidy-up" what the commentator has just described in real time by explaining what led to the chance. It may seem an easy thing to do, but it isn't and there is no wrong way or right way to do it. The hardest matches to describe are the ones where nothing is happening and that's where a little colour can help entertain those who cannot actually see what is happening. There are some commentators I don't like listening to but it doesn't mean that they are bad at their job. Radio Bristol has produced some really good commentators who have gone on to national success such as Alistair Bruce-Ball and more recently Alfie Reynolds who has worked both for the BBC and Talk Sport (he now specialises on rugby). He actually gained experience at Hospital Radio and I worked with him at Ashton Gate for a while, within two minutes of his first commentary stint I knew that he was a natural, it's been great to see him develop. Others have tried but fallen quickly by the wayside because they soon realised it wasn't something they could do. I don't think iFollow has helped Radio Bristol because they are essentially providing radio commentary not TV commentary which are different disciplines. You may be critical because a commentator has named the wrong player but it isn't easy if it's an "opposition player" early in the game who is unfamiliar, you can't see their number and you have a split second to call it. Any way it's all opinions in the end! Kind regards John Malyckyj I think the rad bris lead commentator could at least not call us bristol city at least twice in the last game i listened to. That is just not professional and shows their subconscious bias.

I've always thought what would really help the commentators is to have a laptop next to them with the game on iFollow. Having to describe everything in real time from a distance will lead to an error from time to time. Having access to replays would help them clear up some of the things that are hard to see in real time (TV commentators do this). Also would give them a chance to debate and give their views on things like penalty shouts for example.

(That game seems like a lifetime ago now!) They had their own camera crew with replays from multiple angles. Was by far the best coverage any other team has had against us.

How can Radio Bristol watch the game on ifollow and commentate given that it is their commentary that is live on ifollow - maybe I am not explaining that very well but they would need a time machine to make that work ........ :-)

For example, being able to give a clearer explanation about a penalty shout to the audience. TV commentators do this all the time.

Did the 15:00 Saturday afternoon blackout get removed at some point this season? Didn't Sky show a League 2 game at 15:00 on the final day of the season?

iFollow have an Owners feed that is available for all games, perhaps that can be used to allow commentary teams to see replays? If I remember correctly, Portsmouth have replays on their big screen, during a home game, which aids their commentary team.
