It should also be pointed out that the commentators are generally in the opposite stand to where the match is filmed from which does not help when you clearly see a shot has gone wide or a player has made a terrible mistake but the commentator doesnt see it or gets it completely wrong. It must be quite a difficult task although I would prefer an ex player instead of Keith Brookman who bores me to tears. Bring back Jamie Shore. The best summariser that Radio Bristol ever had. |

I’m a woman, for me at has nothing to do with her gender, it is totally the pitch and screech of her voice!!! I don’t think ‘ commentating ‘ Marries well with high pitch vocals - I have no probs with gabby Logan, Kelly Dalgleish et al, but they do not commentate, it’s a whole different skill ! if a man commentated with the same hi screeched Octave I would feel exactly the same - irritated !!! 💙Utg |

Anybody surprised Robbins has given up on her commentating career just as she seems to have made the breakthrough onto national radio, Head of Comms hardly seems a similar high profile job, I wouldn't have a clue of the name of the person who those that at Rovers.

Nah its the voice, couldn't give a toss if a ruddy elephant commentated on games as long as I can listen to the commentator without wishing I was deaf oh hang on. I could not listen to Kenneth Williams commentating as his voice goes right through I, but I could listen to hattie jaques voice all day long But unfortunately neither hattie or Murray walker are available. |

I suppose it depends on the role but with it being Head of Comms rather than a role within the media team it may be a Monday to Friday 9-5. Who knows? |

Alexandra Hartley on the cricket has a perfect relaxing tone to listen to. |

Before everyone jumps on the sexist wagon could we consider that Rovers fans are used to having pro Rovers commentators. Also the fan base hate Yeovil and she is a Yeovil fan. It’s got nothing to do with man vs woman.
