The pitch invasion definitely took a little away from the 7-0. Instead of elation for the last 5 miniutes, we had what, half hour of stress not really knowing if they would come back out! Wasnt at Daggers unfortunately, but for me it goes 1. 2nd May 1990 followed by Blackpool 4-0 2J Igoes goal at Wembley 2J 7-0 4 Watching the Daggers result come in on Soccer Saturday 5 Grimsby penalty relief Blackpool 4-0? A few beers then I thought that. I was wondering how I`d managed to miss a goal that day.

When one takes into consideration the size and population of Bristol, season ticket sales and match day attendances are abysmal! That’s because there’s more Liverpool and Man United ‘fans’ in Bristol than there are Rovers and City

Also , am I right in thinking we have one of the biggest district football leagues in the country on a Saturday ? The downs is always packed to the hilt with many games taking place when both us and city play. That would also make up a huge amount of young and old potential lost season ticket / match day sales I would have thought ?

You'd have thought players are more likely to take an interest in watching games then your average humanoid

Regardless if they ever actually go to games.

Back in the sixties and seventies when I played you could count on a extra thousand or more for a evening game.it was the only time local footballers could attend

When I played back in the day. There were more amateur footballers in Bristol than any City in Europe.

Regardless if they ever actually go to games. That's true but what can the club do about it? Obviously in the mid to long term the stadium and the league we are in plays a huge part but surely in the short term we have to try and attract younger supporters? It's been mentioned on here before but cheap under 14 tickets, players visiting schools/ youth clubs and actually getting local kids invited to things like the fun day might help. I don't think the YP actually exists anymore so the Halloween party and a kids Christmas party presumably organized by the CT,SC and Tote End old boys (John Keyes) are a must in my opinion. Get it advertised in all schools within a 5 mile radius. Couple of quid entry (pre booked tickets) with a loss leader on food and drink, could earn the club thousands in the future if they young uns get hooked. At worst a loss of a few hundred quid but good kudos, good publicity and hopefully the kids associate Rovers and the Mem with a feel good factor.

There is very little to be positive about concerning Rovers. Poor Season Ticket sales and match day attendance in a large city. A third - rate stadium the club has to remain in. Decade upon decade yo-yo-img between third and fourth tier, An ageing fan-base with little sign of improvement. Any wonder why I remain Numerous other large cities have plenty going-on but have successful football clubs with large attendances!

Decade upon decade yo-yo-img between third and fourth tier, An ageing fan-base with little sign of improvement. Any wonder why I remain pesimistic? I used to think the fan base was ageing and was quite concerned about it for some time. But the last 12-18 it has definitely improved and I saw that when the south stand opened up and saw all the young supporters next to the segregation. Yes the stadium isn’t the best, but at least something is actually being done about it now. I also wasn’t happy about the idea of staying at the mem when we walked away from st Phillips, but there’s so many soulless bowls nowadays, maybe it isn’t so bad staying at the and keeping the close to the pitch atmosphere we’ve got now. Glass half full

Sort out the stadium and our outlook changes completely.
That's why sticking put is not such a bad thing. We have precedence for planning and we already own the site, there's no enabling schemes. It should be straight forward to get planning and put a spade in the ground. We need to bite the bullet and get it done.
Our neighbours did it and now people talk of them being a premier league club in waiting. Certainly off the pitch they have their ducks in a row. No reason why the same can't be true of us if we sort the Mem out.

I suppose people are addicted to their Smartphones and wouldn’t have the attention-span to watch a 90-minute game of football!!

Too busy with their Smartphones to buy Season Tickets or attend matches. I think people are drawn to the glitz and glamour of upper league football. Premier League, Championship less so. Definitely not League One and below. It's why everyone walks around with Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd shirts on. Each to their own because for me although the people who like the elite stuff like to tell us League One football is awful I'm bored senseless by watching Premier League or International football. Overcoming this attitude is our challenge.

Has anyone received their season ticket yet? Or been given and expected delivery date?

Has anyone received their season ticket yet? Or been given and expected delivery date? If you haven’t paid the extra £15 you won’t receive a physical card.
