I can't see us getting the striker we need on a permanent unless we spend a lot of cash. Lincoln have paid £75k for Rob Street from Cheltenham. 1 in 10 record in League 1. We need a 15+ goal scorer at least and they cost a lot more! We let a 25+ goal a season striker slip through our fingers this time last year and I’m still waiting the name of the pacy, young, goalscoring No.9 we should have been signing instead from those who said JCH was past it. I would hope we at least spoke to JCH over the summer and offered him something....doesn't fit in with buying young talent who we can profit from but MT has said he wants a blend of youth and experience....JCH would have got us goals but there was no way we could have competed with Rotherham on wages. Boat sailed and hopefully a gem will be found. Fingers crossed we take at least one gamble on a prolific non league striker....has worked in the past! |

Campbell was on £7k per week at Stoke and Humphrys £8k per week at Wigan. Fair points Pirate but if they have a lack of offers, £4k - £5k a week being the ‘main man’ at Rovers would be something to consider at least. Highly unlikely. There are clubs at this level or elsewhere able to pay more. |

Trying to find out more information on tentative links to Britt Assombalonga. Have heard there have been enquiries to his agent, but not sure how reliable the source. Apparently on about £5k pw at previous club in Turkey.

That's what was agreed after he turned up in the taxi from Pompey having agreed on a lower wage and then his agent upped his demands. Anyway, I think it was probably for the best fiscally. |

So having now sold Collins and perhaps Evo and if there is no transfer fee involved they might get close to that again I guess, certainly if they see there being an on sale value. They should have a much better understanding of what is necessary, having been at the club for close to a year and having GF onboard. |

Rather see us take a chance on a younger/non league up and coming player, any ideas?, or even a loan possibly. |
