For those hoping Sam Nombe would be a target. In Millers opening friendly he started in front of JCH and scored 4. Fans were impressed.
Second half saw both Nombe and Eaves play. If you wanted a score out of 10 for Nombe it would have to be a 9. He showed great pace, balance, determination and moreover had an attitude that said to Evans, 'Look at me!'' 2 of his goals neither Hugill/Eaves would have chased or won and definitely given up on, but not Nombe, he was sounding himself out and bravo to him for that attitude.

Before the 22/23 season I watched Nombe score 4 in a pre-season friendly against Weston and said he would go on to have a good season and so it proved. I fully expect another good season from him this time around.

Wouldnt surprise me to see him keep the Gas messiah JCH on the bench most of the season. Still he'll have his cash!

Sam Nombe has not been a prolific goalscorer throughout his career

I will completely hold my hands up and say that I know nothing about him but £500k for a striker that has scored 11 goals in two seasons seems wild.

Way over the top in money ....
Chatting earlier to a pal close to the Club he intimated that is the total deal value not simply cash - maybe other add ons etc...Is someone also going to Fleetwood maybe?
Anthony Evans £450k seems like a bargain now.

Hope that includes £150k for Fleetwood if we get promoted in the next three years

Isn’t the state of football worrying when you pay half a million for a footballer no one has heard of?
Saw an interview on Sky yesterday with some Dutch bloke bought for absolute millions and the interviewer asked him what sort of player the fans could expect! For that kind of money that should be a very stupid question!!

Considering where the rumour has come from this is a done deal by the sounds of it Pete O'Rourke one of the more reliable sources on net

I would have thought the £500k will be with add-ons. I can't see Rovers doing that. If it was Will Evans from Newport that would make more sense to me

Saw Andy Tillson at Twerton for our friendly last Saturday & I thought it’s hard to believe he’s still our record fee signing, well at long last he may lose that honour.
