Not convinced at all that a loan deal is good business… Would far rather our own player in such a crucial position.

Last seasons loan keeper was as useful as the proverbial chocolate fireguard. Let's hope he is a step up from him.

Only 22 but Josh has 126 appearances in league and cup already.
Cheltenham Town, Lincoln City and Portsmouth on loan in last three seasons.
Josh Griffiths impressed on loan at Cheltenham, winning the club's Young Player of the Season award after keeping 23 clean sheets in 50 appearances as he played his part in a season which saw Cheltenham crowned League Two Champions.
Was first choice keeper for each of these three clubs during his loan spells.
Genuine competition for Jed Ward. Good.
Rumour has it that he is 6ft 13ins tall.
Then again. Not all rumours are true.

Assume and hope Hall will be loaned out if this is true. Assume will be quite a few levels down.

Ward needs a full season playing every single week - if we're signing this lad, Ward needs a League 2 or National League loan and we need to bring in another experienced keeper, as Hall can't be relied upon as our back up GK.

I dont want Ward loaned out but no point in the 2nd keeper if this is what we do. We either recall Ward or use the emergency loan system. Exactly why Hall has been brought in as a "fake" keeper

You would imagine he could get a L2 side with his experience last season in L1 and his England call-ups

If so, I'm not particularly bothered about getting in a permanent number 2, but the point stands that Jed is our most promising young player and needs a full season of football, not sat on our bench for 4 out of 5 games.

Awful strategy imo. Need an experienced keeper to push Jed and someone he can lean on, not another loan 1 year older than him.

I’m happy with this with Jed as #1 There's no way WBA's No 2 is going to swap sitting on the bench at a Championship side to doing the same this season in L1. I guess there's always a chance JW's being sold this summer.
