How is it destroying another loan keeper by having the opinion that you rate our own young keeper more? Surely they should be battling for number one spot and so far in my opinion ward looks better. I think fans having opinion on one v the other is fine. Where is gets damaging is if the new guy gets the shirt and the crowd starts chanting Jed’s name - that to me is where the line is crossed and likely to damage a players performance And I can almost guarantee that this will happen , one error and it’ll start , you wait and see.

I dont think this was the right solution, we are repeating the mistake of last year but will support whoever is in goal when at the ground. Either an experienced no1 or someone (belly like) with experience but willing to be no2 to Jed was needed. This is neither here nor there.

From one half of football, see everyone is turning on another young loan keeper and will wonder why it didn't work out Wind it back a bit. Not turning on him at all and I wish him well - it is in everybody's interests that he does well. I was simply expressing the opinion that Jed looked the better of the 2 goalkeepers on the evidence of this game.
What's the point of a fans forum if you can't offer opinion on players performance. We do it every game and it's hardly character assasination!
Very well pointed out 👍.

Watched the game, more than anything relieved to get through without injuries, the pitch was horrendous.
First half no doubt we looked dangerous going forward and Promise was causing plenty of problems, should've had a goal or two.
Equally Jevani got in some good areas but looks completely devoid of any confidence.
Kofi was a standout and I'm sure will be involved with the first team squad this season.
Griffiths nowhere to be seen for the first goal but did make a very good save also. People saying Jed looked better but he literally had nothing to do.
Good to see Grant Ward out there, looked his usual classy self.
Bromley a bruising team and a different kind of pre season test.
Overall a good workout.

Totally agree. Let’s support him, build his confidence, not destroy him or we could end up destroying to young keepers if Jed’s brought in to early It's pathetic the way some of our fans act and I fear this will happen again this season with Griffiths. I'm sure they are just waiting for him to make a mistake so they can call for Ward to be put in. He did make a mistake. And Jed (one of our own) showed and approved to MMT and the fans who voted him young player of the season that he is good enough. Nigel Martyn was just 21 in the August of 87 when join BRFC from St Blazey, within two seasons he was sold for £1M. Jed is 21 imo we should be promoting our own players.

No offence but you can’t compare ward with Martyn , totally different levels of class.

So if he is good enough to be a starter in league one why has Taylor said he will probably go out on loan this season. That says to me the MT dosent think he is ready to be a regular starter and I agree. He was voted young player as there wasn't alot of competition for the award and our fans do love a one of there own romance. Yes he is promising and we are right to sign him up to a long term deal as he will improve in time I have no doubt in that but he is nowhere near ready to be our number one now.

That is the point, we seem to be repeating the Cox error Hopefully Griffiths proves to be better than the experienced options

Got to agree with PH.
And agree, we could have done with bringing in a more experienced GK if anything, instead we are developing another clubs goalkeeper.

We need a keeper who will command his area especially the six yard box ..... Jed does not do that possibly due to the fact that his previous coach Jaakkola didn't either.
Early days I know and I am really hoping an experienced keeper still joins us as I have seen nothing in the new loanee that suggests he is an upgrade on Jed. The beauty of a loanee keeper is that his gaffs can get us relegated and at the end of the season he returns to his parent club .... Keepers should be permanent - crucial part of the teams backbone.

Neither is Josh Griffiths who is only 1 year older than Ward and overal stats actually have Jed Ward as the better keeper. Josh has been sent out on loan for game time which is understandable, in my opinion it’s a strange move to drop Ward for Josh, I am all for Ward going out on loan to get experience but to drop him over Griffiths is a strange call. Still, it’s Taylor’s side now so let’s see how this all unfolds in the new season.

But last season you were insistent Cox was good enough? Regardless is Griffiths that much better than Ward, from what we've seen so far?
