Wow! An honour to be doing the match day thread for our season opener!
Obviously it's been years since we've had a win on the opening day - for some reason I'm super confident today is the day we end that streak!

Very excited for today. My youngest is 18 today and is joining me for the trip back to Bristol, a few beers to celebrate and hopefully a win for the gas!

Nice to see everyone here again!
Especially after a few months of desensitising completely...
Another tough opening day of the season as I thoroughly expect Northampton to be the difficult opponents they always pose themselves as - plus, there's a few ex Gas players in there too.
Also, I would think there were at least 4 more fancied worse teams in the league.
Scintillating anticipation on the new 13 players and how they will fare today.
I haven't seen anything in pre season, so a baptism of fire for me, no doubt.
With absolutely nothing to go on, my perpetual Gas optimism rises, so predictions:
Gas 2-1 win.
Why not?
Meeting of minds and swills on Gloucester Rd.
Some sort of fun had by all.
Some hot air balloons.
Win lose or draw, a good day had by all!

Starting afresh with Taylor this season as if it’s his first game in charge.
I wasn't happy with how the last season ended, but new squad and a pre season under his belt.
