The stewards aren't going to do anything unfortunately. They just want an easy day. People singing the songs probably just need to be a bit more creative and come up with songs that aren't dependent on profanity or are potentially offensive. Not everyone has the vocabulary I suppose. |

Nothing ‘woke’ about it , like others have said , it’s extremely embarrassing. I heard it on Saturday being shouted out by some right bellends , unfortunately one of the lads was stood right behind me so I could hear every word , I turned around and just gave him a look that you would give your toddler if they were playing up but he didn’t seem to give a sh**. |

I wouldn’t necessarily call it racist however it’s very ignorant.
I’m disappointed our fanbase can’t make a decent song for a bloke with one of most unique names in the EFL!

Our club is about unity and respect. The club have done the right thing by openly addressing the chant and its impact on our players and the reputation of our community focused club.
The chant talks about one of our players in a way that reinforces an old and racist stereotype. That kind of stereotype is racist. It reduces the player to a stereotype rather than celebrating his talent, hard work and his skill as a football player. The chant is also misogynistic.
It’s only a very small minority of our fans. I know we are much better than this and that the over riding majority of our fans would have no truck with this behaviour.
I would certainly expect fans to be removed from the terraces and banned if this was to continue.
Of course, we all know that Laliga had its first conviction in Spain for racist abuse at a football match. The three perpetrators were sentenced to 8 months imprisonment, given a 2-year bans from enter a stadium, and ordered to pay the costs of the proceedings. Our authorities have similar powers and as we have seen recently, apply them.
Can we all be understanding, kind and respectful to everyone?
