Has a chant posted on a forum ever, you know, become a chant?

I took on most of the Twitter trolls yesterday who mostly tried to justify their reasons for singing it. Facebook Rovers group has also been an absolute delight to read but there are only so many ignorant twats I can take on with my spare time in the day. Mostly the reasons that were given for singing the chant were "where does it mention his race in the chant", "the reason people go to football is to blow off steam", "how do you know promise has actually complained" and the obligatory "just the woke lot who are offended at everything". Well, I'm not black, so I'm not offended directly. However my sister has married an absolute gem of a Jamaican fellow and his family are my family so I do have some skin in the game because I'm sad to say I've witnessed him being racially abused, profiled and stereotyped in the 15+ years I've known him. So why has a song about a black guy with an alleged big penis caused so much offence? Well this is an interesting little piece of information which explains why and I thought I'd put it here. I'm not saying or trying to educate anyone, because when I posted the information on X I was accused of being patronising, when all I was trying to do was hopefully make a few understand and empathise. www.boldvoices.co.uk/blog/race-and-rape-culture-part-2If anyone wants to post any thoughts I'd be interested in hearing them.

Will not change their minds. They will continue and attack anyone who dares to suggest that it's wrong. These are f**k.wits. They declare 'Be kind' when it suits them but have the attitude that if someone is upset about the things they say or the things they do, it's the person/people offended that are in the wrong. I say let them light fireworks out of their arses and let Nature's natural selection process take over.

Some folk seem to have the need to be seen to be "anti PC/anti woke" and follow the semi literate leaders like lost sheep.
If a song about racial stereotypes and women dying is acceptable, then maybe the wannabe Andrew Tates among the support base might need to go back to school.
Anyway, that's me done with serious sh**.
UTFG and onwards to Darrell Town. (Although not me, as my nipper is getting married Saturday which is far more fun than arguing with coked up tits at away games)

Some folk seem to have the need to be seen to be "anti PC/anti woke" A reminder: โAnti-woke" is a term often used by individuals or groups who oppose the principles and actions associated with "woke" culture or the "woke" movement. The term "woke" originally comes from African American Vernacular English (AAVE) and means being aware of social injustices, particularly related to race, inequality, and discrimination. What is so wrong being woke? They seem like the considerate, friendly and respectful people that I meet most of the time. When someone says they are woke, often they are not so nice from my observation. Please be kind and respectful.

Ahh the thread of woke or not woke ?, hmm, is so uplifting, virtue signalling and a sense of enormous well-being, with the occasional sprinkle of your a **** thrown in for good measure, will for sure bring Tote Enders far and wide back together in harmony. Back to the subject matter, personally I do not like the words shouted in the chant relating to Promise not sure why anybody would.

The stock response to anyone who says they don't agree with the freedom to offend people as they choose.

As I posed on X to multiple people "racism isn't woke". The woke term has been hijacked, rebadged and reformed to mean something completely different to what it once was and no longer fits the profile of out and out racism in the single degree.
Racism is racism, whether you are throwing the N or C word around or making stereotypical implications or connotations. It really is that simple. You can't be a little bit racist, or say something a little bit racist, it's actually racist or it isn't.

Some great points above. And anecdotes.
Song about ๐ when we were all friends went in part..
" His c0ck's in the cup, he's gonna take us up! We got Matty Taylor...."
You can see one other reason why he was named snake now!?
All I'm going to say about this is is.... it's uneducated and crass, but it isn't coming from a bad or hurtful place. I'm not condoning the song (now am aware, as only just heard it) but many songs are made up on spur of moment that have been wittier, just a shame this one wasn't a bit more thought out.

I mean the thing was with Taylor, he literally put his cock in the cup. It was an assumed stereotype based on race. His cock was photographed and shared in a cup.

So, he's white guy with a big cock....I suppose that goes against stereotyping? *I must admit to a chortle at reading your post! ...much respect chewie, not a patronising chortle, just I can imagine you saying it in a pub or bar somewhere and everyone laughing about it if unaware that actually happened! ๐คญ Very well put, sir (that wasn't a pun!)
