Unless Brown has a deal set up I assume he does want to play, just that MT has decided he wants to move him on. I'm not really sure McCormick running around like a headless chicken is anymore effective than Brown's laid-back approach. I am. They don't like it up em. A couple of times McCormick chased down their keeper and his only option was to kick for touch. That is some good contribution. He was also in the right place at the right time to put the ball into the back of the net, it took a bit of a bobble at the time he hit it unfortunately. However, his pace got him there. I can never understand why they don't kick it down into the ground more in training to avoid always kicking it over the bar

McCormick has been excellent in pre-season. Even go as far as to say the best football I've seen from him in both stints. But that miss yesterday was a shocker! That should of been the winner.

The BBC website gives more “match facts” this season. Yesterday it seems there were 108 aerial challenges in our game, of which Rotherham won 61. This was the most on the division by some way. Next was 72 in the Charlton v Orient match. Bottom was Reading v Wigan with 28. So it seems the ball was in the air a very great deal yesterday. We were also top last weekend with 84 aerial challenges v Northampton.
The only match fact that counts is goals but it will be interesting to see how we fare against non route one teams.
The BBC may have miscounted of course.

The fact people think Macca has been excellent pre season shows just what a low bar he’s set. He’s worked hard and run about a lot but as far as being excellent I think that’s a little generous to say the least. I can’t think of any real moments of quality in any part of any game and there have been 2 maybe 3 examples of finishing exactly the same as yesterday. Busy, enthusiastic, energetic….yes…..but…

Those Rotherham fans better get used to it! They are going to see that every week while Evans is in charge, even against the better sides the game will be poor because even the likes of Birmingham etc.. just won't be allowed to play football. What I liked about us yesterday was even when they had a chance we made it difficult for them, with bodies in the way or being challenged, they didn't really get any clean chances. I'd argue that we had the best chance of the game with Mccormick and a reasonable one in the first half with Hutchinson.

Had we not had Griffiths in goal yesterday that would have been a 3/4 goal fest for Rotherham. McCormick won’t be given too many opportunities, we need promise to be finding the net more ( does lots off the ball and do like him)

Miserable northern bastards 🙄😂 Aren’t they just !!!! 🙃😩😞 I quite liked them. The same will be being said at any club that haven't won yet this season and ironically haven't scored yet. There was a time, between the 15th and 20th June or so when some on here were complaining that Rotherham had signed really good players and we hadn't announced any yet. It's a marathon, not a sprint. However nice to have 4 points in the bag already. Only another 46 needed...

Miserable northern bastards 🙄😂 Aren’t they just !!!! 🙃😩😞 As I’ve said earlier I think this was the perfect time to play Rotherham away and we got a result. Great building block before we play Stockport away. Be happy with a draw there as don’t think they will be able to maintain the form they’ve showed so far - they are riding on a bubble and we are just the ones to burst it now we’ve got our forwards back in contention. So pleased we didn’t buy JCH as I believe he’s on the way down not up

In one sentence, you say "he`s done very well", and in another, you say "he loses possession as often as he retains it." Can`t be both, surely? As for what he could bring to a league game, we won`t know until he`s given a chance. Personally, ( from what I `ve seen ) I think he`s earned the chance to be at least part of the match day squad. Of course it can be both. He’s 17! He’s done really well in PRE SEASON in games that are wid open and played at half pace. However he’s still (as expected) very erratic and makes erratic decisions and loses possession often either through decision making or physicality. Hes gonna be just fine but he’s miles off a league game right now. Well, we`ll have to agree to disagree on that one. To me, a player cannot be said to be playing very well, if he gives the ball away as often as he keeps it. I take your point about pre season games being very different to league games, nonetheless, surely one of the main points of them, is for a player to show that he is worthy of a shot at the big time. From what I saw in those games, I thought Shaw had played well enough enough to warrant a place on the bench now. My opinion. Obviously not yours. Miles off a league game? Only one way to find out.

Well for starters I didn’t say he’d “played well”, I said he’d “done well”. It may sound pedantic but there’s a difference. He’s done well, relatively speaking, given his age and experience. However he is young and his game is erratic, which is perfectly normal and understandable. He’ll get game time in BSM competition which is a start and he’ll have time to develop away from the glare and responsibility of playing against the likes of Rotherham where every little error will be ruthlessly exposed and possibly point costing. There isn’t only one way to find out. The staff will have a very detailed eye on what he does and doesn’t and how ready he is, every single day they see him and the fact he’s NOT made the bench is an indication of what they think right now. They’ll have a much better idea of when he’s ready without chucking him in too soon.

The late leave from Promise showeg good awareness (maybe Macca gave him a shout?) but from the highlights it was coming fast so nowhere near a gilt edged chance that it seemed from reading people's comments. Macca needs a goal so maybe some game time on Tuesday will help his confidence. Spurs will be no pushovers though.

Dont care what those three say the only good football came from us especially in the first half and what do they expect with Evans and Raynor partnership? Those two have never been known for good football and that will not change. I have the feeling we will soon be seeing some cracking football from this side and I know which i would prefer to watch. Our two chances were as good as anything Rotherham created and I was very impressed with a lot of our quick build up play. Our defence was outstanding as well as the keeper. If we wanted our defence tesyted aerially we couldnt have asked for a more difficult start to the season as neither game was ever going to be a game for the purist!

No it wasn't, sat right in front of the chance, he needed to guide the ball, he tried to hit it hard and his foot opened up and ball went wide.
