That was a lot like when Graham Coughlan was Rovers manager. Good hard work winning battles but not much else.
I thought making the 5 subs was a big risk.

He had a win ratio of 44.60% and had us up to third in the table when he left. Let’s not get carried out now. A win is a win and 3 points in the bag! UTG.

We won. We scored a handful.
Work on our defending at the end of the game and keep up our scoring and we’ll do well this season.
These players are capable enough well be fine this season.
Need to stick with the project getting rid of Taylor will chuck disruption on disruption.

Brilliant 60 mins of football well done lads, then the manager makes 5 subs ? I understand the promise and possibly Hunt substitutions but the rest ? This manger is a real liability, he’s either got a massive ego issue or is tactically inept. Still , we won and a much needed 3 points.

A reasonable performance against a poor side almost ruined by our Manager who decides to make 5 subs. He hasn’t got a clue. We were 3 0 up and have another game on Saturday. If players got injured, fans would have moaned that we should have rested a few. Hunt and Lindsey have had injuries and Sinclair is getting on. Why would players suddenly get injured playing another 10 mins or so when it wasn't a dirty game, surely super fit Sinclair could have played 5 or 10 mins more, likewise Sortiriou and PC even if Hunt and Lindsey needed taking off. That's two games running MT's done it and we've conceded 3 goals after the subs came on.

They are made because players are tiring and he needs to try and get the subs performing to a decent level by giving them game time.

It was a lot closer than it should have been, but we got the points. Now we can hopefully start with the same 11 and try and build some consistency. Hunt has got injured a few times since we've been here and although Sinclair is fit, he's still old and you would like to think Forde would be an adequate replacement for him with 12 minutes left!

Like I said I agree with Promise and to a degree Hunt. Making that may changes especially so quickly destroys the flow of the game. The manager got it wrong yet again and very nearly cost us.

Interesting that the two of the players that won the game for us were not signed by Taylor and it was the most experienced players we have that most helped us win the game . Been saying for ages we need to play our most experienced players and introduce the young new signings slowly not dump them in at the deep end. Will be glad when Martin is back and Hunt plus Ward are fully fit (if that will ever happen). We have seen glimpses of quality from the younger players but they need to be introduced more slowly . One swallow doesn't make a summer, but this win will give the team some confidence going into the important game against Burton, a game we need and should win.

I hope tonight is a turning point in our season, but one game doesn`t change everything that`s gone before. All it did for me, was to confirm that we have a decent squad of players here, and with a competent manager at the helm we could have a decent season.

For clarity -
Are Charlton's goals equivalent to the 2 we scored against P'boro?
Are both poor game management? Are both a losing team shifting momentum? Or are both examples that you can morph to fit what you already think?

Mola,Wilson and Hunt were superb this evening It's such a shame hunt can't stay fit as he's so good going forward gives us a lot more creative output. Connor taylor was shaky all game. Not sure what's happened to him this year but Taylor Moore has to come back in for him Saturday. Much needed win. Utg. Not sure TM is as good in the air as CT, assuming Hunt is fit I wouldn't change the back 5 they never looked like conceding before MT went sub mad. Aside from the silly headbutt against Wigan I've been really impressed with Taylor moore this season and he'd make my starting 11 ahead of Taylor.

The manager got it wrong yet again and very nearly cost us. Agree perhaps sub one or two of the less fit players , but as they say, don't try to repair what isn't broken and change a winning team. We do need to manage Sinclair though , he is a quality player , who has played at the highest level in Europe and won trophies with Celtic. Could be one of our guiding stars this season.

The most likely time you get injured is when you’re tired, both physically and mentally.

In hindsight making 5 subs was not a great idea. Especially when changing 3 and 2 players at a time, as it takes time for players to get up to speed with the game.
BUT up until the subs came on, we were comfortable, everyone knew what they were doing, plenty of energy, didn't look like there was going to be any other result.
Much needed 3 points most importantly.
