Enjoyable win but the strange subs nearly cost us. Not sure why Mm bothers with McCormick, apart from fiddling with his hair, he offers nothing. Last night should have seen Hutchinson getting minutes.
Thought Hunt was man of the match, closely followed by Mola.
Starting to warm to Sitoriou as well, he made some great runs last night and time and again is not being picked out.

Staggered at the negativity in this thread. We played excellently for 70 minutes. We were intense, there was a lot more passion, pace and energy and the team spirit was clear to see all over the pitch. I thought Hunt made a massive difference and him, Wilson and Sinclair led the team on the front foot from the first minute. Absolutely the subs were an error and it was also fairly obvious that what happened might happen before it did happen. Clearly this is a disappointment and took the gloss off the win to some extent. However, the first 70 minutes needs to be the headline and we move on to Saturday with a great opportunity to build and move forward. Unlike some, I’d love Taylor to succeed and hope this is the turning point. Unlike some you’d love Taylor to succeed? Unlike who? Every fan WANTS the manager to succeed just because they criticise him or think he’s not doing very well doesn’t mean they WANT him to fail. What a daft thing to say This is probably the closest: gaschat.co.uk/post/1033634Of course no-one on the forum would admit publicly. Their posts and rhetoric does suggest they would rather be proved right than Rovers be successful. However there is definately a MT out group who don't want him to be successful.

Starting to warm to Sitoriou as well, he made some great runs last night and time and again is not being picked out. They used all five of their subs. Four of them were introduced around the same time as ours. They would say their subs improved them. I didnt like the drastic changes Taylor made, I think the biggest difference was Hunt going off which gave them free reign down our right flank. Accept we need to nurse Hunt to keep him fit.

Well done the team, well done MT after a crap week or so. They all get hammered when they lose so it’s only fair to give them credit when they win. And against a team I had down for top 3 at season start.
UTG!

A wins a win, absolutely made up we got three points. A performance full of effort, but still a bit rough, 3 very good goals but again never felt like we were in control, I suppose that's because of our run of defeats. Our experienced players really stepped up and got us the win and in my opinion was the difference last night. Hopefully this will give them some confidence and we can build on this.

We were definitely shaky at the back, even in the 1st half after CT conceded the corner and thus "defending from the front" helped us. What was MT to do in terms of subs ? It seems to be generally agreed that Lindsay & Hunt needed to be rested to give them a chance of playing on Saturday, but what about the other three ? Personally I would have kept Promise (an outlet for the team who competed very well for every ball, with good hold up play) and Sinclair (Captain, leader and scorer) on for another 10 mins. In that nervy last spell, Forbes wasted two throw in's, one going straight off for a goal kick and Griffiths, admittedly from close to the edge of the pitch and probably not wanting to kick it into the middle of the pitch put two free-kicks straight out. Yes, we remain fragile, but lets take the positives from some real leaders performances from many of the starting 11

Two assists for Promise last nice, Scotty rolling back the years, Lindsay finding his feet and Hunt earning his place back in the team. For a side filled with youngsters, we need our experienced heads to stand up and be counted - Sinclair, Lindsay and Hunt did that last night.

Thought on paper last night looked a really tough one so to come away with the 3 points is really pleasing. Looked a lot more controlled in our shaper with Hunt and Bilongo making a big difference helping us to retain possession a bit better than previous games where we seemed to give it up so cheaply and often in our own half. Hunt, Wilson, Mola, Lindsay and Sinclair all deserve massive credit really stepped up. Surprised to see the love in for Sotiriou I thought he was pretty ineffective all game. Really surprised how poor Charlton were struggled to get their game going playing out from the back. Nathan Jones was tearing his hair out down in front of us think last night knocked about 10 years off. Side note, that’s 2 home games now I thought the referees have been excellent (bar not playing the advantage to us last night). Quickly shot down when they’ve had a shocker so only right they get credit where it’s due. Small step forward last night finally some glimpses of the team rallying around and playing for each other. Need to build on it now and cut out the individual and collective mistakes that have hampered us all season. UTG

Totally agree, but I would add James Wilson’s performance last night, who in my mind was MOM last night, hopefully that sets a marker going forward to our next match against Burton, keep the same starting lineup except perhaps bring Taylor Moore back in for Connor Taylor who’s seems not quite at his best at the moment. Shame the late 2 Charlton goals took the gloss off the overall performance a little, but for the first 70 minutes we looked like a decent outfit & good to see Bilongo on the left & Hunt on the right, which made us look a more balanced side.

Reflecting on last night, which was only my second game of the season, and with the caveat that watching on the iPhone isn't great, I thought all of the starting eleven did well. Lindsay was impressive, absent a couple of poor free kicks, and Wilson, and I do like Mola. Everyone worked really hard, which was good to see. MT does have to decide what he is going to do about subs in future but in a must-win game (for our sanity as well as the team's) to swap half the outfield players seems strange. We don't seem to have the confidence to adapt. I'm sure confidence would have been higher had we not lost four in a row, but that was the position we were in and it very nearly cost us last night, not that Charlton deserved anything from the game.
Had we held on against Wycombe we would have taken four points from two home games, a decent mid-table return. I don't think we are too far away from that, so roll on Burton and hopefully another point or three.

Lmao sorry, my mistake, I COMPLETELY forgot Jimbo. He literally scored and almost had another when he stole Sincs' mazy dribble. Wilson had a good game too.

That performance was a huge relief to me.
We actually looked organised and the experienced players ensured we had some nous in our team shape, which has been missing all season.
Please keep the same team. Sinclair needs to play in 10 role. He is an excellent footballer and can score goals.
The interview from MT after the game was a real insight. He basically admitted that he told the squad that he was on borrowed time given results and supporter sentiment last Saturday. Whether this galvanised the team is another matter, but the experienced players showed up last night. 10 out of 10 for MT's honesty with press and transparency with players.
If we play like that, we will pick up points and stave off relegation. Just do it again..and again.

Does the Matt Taylor interview suggest anything about his relationship with the "dressing room"?

First game of the season for me. I’m only able to get to 3/4 games a year now and I don’t think I’ve seen us lose since in years. Genuinely think it was under DC/GC. The club should probably start paying me to attend tbh
Anyway.. Back to basics last night. Yes Charlton were poor, but that’s not an excuse to beat the team with, we fully deserved the 3 points and we worked our arses off, I’ll take that.
I was a bit concerned with the lack of midfield, especially first half. Seemed to be a lot of long ball, but I’m ok with that - because Charlton really struggled with it. A few more passages of play developed in the goals too, which was good to see.
My first time in the south stand, what an excellent view that is, so much more enjoyable.
Also a note on the pints.. it was £4.50 for a pint of rovers in the fanzone. Had another in the ground and suddenly £6. Really not on tbh.
