Griffiths except for Wigan match has been impressive I don’t think ‘impressive’ is the best word. He still looks all over the place with crosses and especially first half Huddersfield he got caught out a couple of times. That being said his shot stopping is not too bad but he didn’t save anything you wouldn’t expect a goalkeeper at this level to save.

Mainly negative on here about Taylor. I for one wanted him here but his boring football boring interviews have turned me around. Living in Oz I don't read the Bristol Post much but recent articals are pointing the finger at Taylor. So in essence the feelings of us supporters must without doubt be resonating in the boardroom and corridors of the training ground. This week is a critical point in how we progress as a club , loose and you would think he will be given the nudge , win and he may get a short term repreave . Based on his 12 months at the Gas he's been a failure . I understand that 2 or 3 wins will catipulte us up the league but in all honestly he's not going to turn this ship around. His Rotherham tenure should has rang a few alarm bells but sadly it didn't and even more disturbing is he brought all his baggage with him.

I agree with a lot on here surrounding the recent performances etc. That being said, can we give the Mat Taylor a chance. Realistically, we were never going to be pushing for promotion this year or next year (IMO). I'm all in favour of giving Matt Taylor the full season then judge from there. From my knowledge Rovers never get a new manager bounce. We struggle to get anyone remotely decent through the door. The atmosphere round the Mem is terrible these days (impacted by performances) but there was a time where the Mem was a terrifying place to go for oppositions but not now.
Lets' give Matt Taylor a fair crack of the whip. Leave the Barton stuff behind, that's been and gone. Turn up and support our team, enjoy matchdays and see what happens. UTG!

It's probably a bit too late for that. The villagers seem to have their pitch forks out. It's the irony that gets me. People saying "I won't go until that clown is out" and then in the same sentence saying "We'll never get to the Championship with our facilities". Seems the rag bag in rag bag rovers refers to some of the fans. So embarrassing.

My problem, and I’m one that looks on the bright side, is that the football isn’t fun watching and Matt has not emotionally connected with the fans. More importantly, connection in the changing room matters and there is not much to suggest he is connecting with the players.
He’s pretty uninspiring - how he got the job is beyond me.
Rich Hertford is losing belief that Matt can turn things round.

It was never going to be a season for anything other than survival. We are building a team that in 3 years can push for promotion.

One thing I’m certain is that Matt needs to connect with the fans. I’ve seen more engaging managers when I played Sunday league games years ago. I can’t really see how he inspires the players. Let’s see if you are right. A super positive fan like me is losing hope and belief that he will get this right. I’m not the only one.

Sadly, it does massively seem a case of "when" and not "if" Taylor gets the boot. As others have said, I don't mind losing to some of the sides in this division but it is the manner of the defeats with the players seemingly not knowing their roles, the lack of desire and the often uninspiring tactics and selections. Even if we get a win tomorrow night, it will only delay the inevitable.

What annoys me now is that in a lot of his interviews he goes on about how tough the league is. It's a if he's expecting us to lose against the 'big' teams. Why can't we beat them?

I have watched all the games bar two this season and with all respect to gasify and anyone else, IMO the current squad could be given ten years and would never push for promotion for what ever reason, be that the manager, lack of quality players, the board, the ref or a full moon! I was on the fence with Matt Taylor but after Saturday that's changed to a negative, dour backs to the wall football from the start again, overloading our penalty area at every potential threat, thus not having an out let or potential threat ourselves on the break (what is it with the modern game that this tactic is used so often, it is not just our team?) But really for me the main gripe Saturday was the arrogant's of our manager who did not even bat an eye lid at the travelling fans who had spent some serious money and time to follow the team on the trek to Huddersfield. I know some will say what do you expect with the stick he was getting which was almost continuous through the second half but there were plenty of fans their supporting him and his team myself included who he may just as well stuck two fingers up too, it was unforgivable to be snubbed by your manager in that way, even a quick acknowledgement from the half way line would have been enough, I think he's now dug himself an almost impossible hole to climb out of?

If he does get removed then as a club, we can forget JB, forget MT and get behind the new manager (though I kinda buy in to some of the conspiracies and maybe a new manager won't be able to change anything behind the scenes).

Those fans should have started singing "One Matt Taylor" then. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. The fans have created a self fulfilling prophecy since JB got sacked.

Everyone can beat everyone on their day. Charlton (12th) beat Birmingham. Stevenage (10th) beat Wrexham. So far the 'average' league position of the teams we've beaten is 20th. Our only draw was Rotherham - 16th. We do seem like we're a goal down against the 'bigger' teams before we even kick off...

Yeah I guess that could of played out, out of interest did you?Yeah, I did actually. I also got a bit agro and said some things that weren't very polite. However, I'd just popped over to America for the afternoon and I don't think they heard me.

Especially away from home and has been for many years. I would also love to see some statistics over the last ten years at games where we have taken large followings (say over 2,000). I would imagine our win percentage in these games is extremely low.

But the post was about Taylor's mindset against the big teams, not sure DC or JB had that same mindset - although they might have got similar results...
