Taking negative to a new level this 😂 Yeah it is . We’re in league 1 we’ve got a new stand and we’re 3 points off the play offs after 10 games and people are talking like it’s the worst time in our history. Things might not all be rosy and there may well be problems behind the scenes but I’ve been supporting Rovers for 40 years and we’ve always been struggling financially or had owners who didn’t know what they’re doing or on the brink of relegation from the football league or at times a combination of all three. Some people need to get a fuc€ing life, we’re a mid / lower league 1 sized club with a league 2 stadium so either put up and get your billions of pounds out to fund us or shut up and get behind the team. Most of the uproar is hear say brought about by needing to know the ins and outs of a cats arse about everything that’s going on at the club but 99.99% don’t actually know anything and it’s pretty pathetic. Also the last time we were actually up around the top 6 in league 1 the majority on here moaned like fuc€ and wanted the manager out. Then when he left they all hated him for leaving. I like your post,it is depressing coming on here year after year and seeing posts that in my view seek to divide us,. BRFC is no different to any other business at Board/Senior management level,in my direct experience there are factions, directors with different agendas etc etc it's the nature of the beast and the need for Power.

I'm not sure that is what has been presented. He didn't know we had signed him until he came in the next day. He said that we looked at him earlier in the window. " On the actual process of signing Forde, Taylor revealed: "He was a name which has been there for a number of weeks, I have to be honest in relation to that, but he wasn't obtainable and his availability would have cost too much. Now, obviously as it's got towards the end, it's come down a little bit and then we were able to say, okay, that's a realistic financial outlay for us for where we see the potential outlay of the player." You can only assume the "we" MT refers to involves him or he would have said "the club" He also didn't sound too unhappy with the signing as he also said the following in the same interview: "I must admit, leaving on Thursday evening and coming in Friday morning, I generally thought our work was pretty much done," Taylor admitted after Saturday's 2-0 win over Cambridge United. "A pleasant surprise, I suppose, to see another addition and a player of such quality. He goes into that bracket of the younger ones that we want to develop and turn into an asset for this football club and whilst we're doing that, can he produce performances? "That was massive, absolutely massive," the Gas manager added on getting Forde in permanently as opposed to on loan. "That's testament to the board because they're willing to put the money there if they feel it will benefit us on the pitch and benefit the club for the bigger picture. "It's a great way of working. I don't counteract it in any way but the aspect of time and patience with the young players, and a lot of young players, is something that I talk about quite a lot and I hope the supporters understand that. "He's an exciting talent. Anyone who watched Leyton Orient last season, he can play outside as well as inside the pitch but pace and power. We like players of that profile because we want to run like we did today." Whilst Roadman & co are trying to paint a picture of MT not having any control over the summer recuritment MT gave no indications that was the case in any of his interviews in the summer. Can you name your sources for these quotes? I have just googled the first quote and get no 'hits' which seems to suggest that something has changed in the quote.

I’ve been following Rovers for many decades and the real joy has come from periods where it’s been tough but the fans got behind the team. For too long we have been divided and that is showing on the terraces. For me it’s simple. True supporters turn up and support. Managers, players, even us old farts move on, but the club stays. MT is a human being and is the current incumbent of our club. The players are human beings and respond better to encouragement. Like all of us. Being a gashead means getting behind the boys, against all odds. UTG To me that includes the manager as well. Socrates pointed this out that we gave Coughlan sh** when we were flying in the league. We hounded the bloke out. We’re at risk of doing that with MT as well. Sure our league position isn’t great right now and we have only had two good results on the bounce but they’re green shoots. We haven’t truly been behind the manager since DC left. Perhaps we were spoiled and don’t know how lucky we were to have had him. I’m guilty of it - I wanted Garner out like nothing else. Many were like it with Barton and now many are like it with MT too. But we need to show more patience and support for our managers.

Can’t remember exactly but I remember reading this or something very similar to it either in Bristol Live or on the club website post transfer deadline day…. 100% we were scouting and tried to get Shaq earlier in the window but felt the asking price at that time was unreasonable or not value for money and then on deadline day through discussions we were made aware that a lower price that we did feel would provide value for money and so we went back in…. People question on here about players not being played etc but quite a few had disjointed pre-seasons so we’re not fully match fit, others have carried injuries, some are being protected from vitriolic abuse and damaging their confidence even further, some rotations is to fit or counter certain teams we play and their style or physicality etc etc This isn’t aimed at you but I’m so tired of the constant negativity that I’m reading on here from people who believe that they are managerial experts and think the game is like championship manager. I’m also tired of the constant sniping and the holier than thou type posting that has snuck in and the assessment of our average League1 team as if they are premiership footballers - they’re not, they’re young naive and inconsistent - and the constant bull rumours that are put out to intentionally undermine the manager, the club, the ownership and to divide the forum base (purposely said forum as we are but a mere snippet of the fan base) purely to suit personal agendas. is everything perfect and rosy with our club - absolutely not - but it is nowhere near the absolute pile of brown stuff that is being made out on here. You’d think we’re on the verge of going out of business and being asset stripped like we’ve seen at other clubs and miles afar at the bottom of the league based upon what some people say on here. Let’s all get some perspective. Matt Taylor is an articulate, intelligent, controlled manager - he’s not the inept, clueless dumb wit that some people are calling him and quite frankly I find some of the comments on here and some of the behaviours from a small minority of fans cringeworthy and embarrassing…. Fickle fans? Absolutely! And in the 50 years I’ve been supporting the gas we appear to be getting further and further away from the values I always associated with being a gashead - faithful and true, supporting THE TEAM through thick and thin, getting behind the team (which includes the managerial staff) and supporting them and being that 12th man. Some people think that they have such a sense of entitlement when quite frankly they have no more right than a complete stranger who doesn’t support us…. Anyway, rant over - time for some time away from the forum as it has just become a huge embarrassment in my opinion and not how I personally would want us gasheads to be viewed …..

To be fair it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens. I said last season he'd be gone by this Christmas and I'm sticking with that prediction. I don't like people loosing there jobs but this guy is way out of his depth at this level

I don’t think we are different to many other clubs fans -the torrent of abuse from adidick fans after rheir defeat at the mem was huge I guess the difference- their manager took full responsibility for the defeat ! 💙

Technically accurate op title.
Unless MT sees out his contact or is poached, he is bound to be sacked. After, Huddersfield away.

This will be very expensive - we’re still having to pay Barton until January. We’ll be paying Taylor for the next couple of years.

Nothing has really changed though. This forum has been pretty much the same since it's inception with the vibe swinging depending on WL streak or position in the league. Posters come and go but nothing changes, much like BRFC. Issue is that the pyramid we are part of has changed. Modernised, got shinier, become more lucrative and flashy whilst BRFC have just hung around and grown mould without adapting to the evolution of the structure. It's natural for punters to have a negative mindset whilst acceptable for others to have unconditional love. It's all a load of sh1te anyway.

Tick-Tock. times they are changing, where have all the monotone lovers gone the answer is blowing in the wind. Lets hope our trip to the Pennines rewards "the new young side" with 3 points. I am not a MM fan by any means but support his team, I just wish he would recognise the results and all the players are his legacy; and stop talking in the third person while throwing players under the bus, not a great look, Up the gas.

Just looked up the results for Gerry Francis’s first season in 87-88.
We had 12 points from our first 10 games, one less point than we currently have from 10 games.
Should Gerry have been sacked or allowed to build a winning team?

We had 3 really poor results - the rest have been fairly close or we’ve won or drawn… performances haven’t always been perfect but to make out we’ve been getting battered every week is just completely false…

In some games we’ve shaded it and in others the opposition have and we’re a few points off the play offs and a few off the drop which is pretty much where I was expecting us to be this season. Perhaps I’m a glass half full type of person , perhaps you’re a glass half empty I don’t know but yes I am enjoying the season so far , I’ve seen better yes but I’ve seen so much worse also and I enjoy following the Rovers.

I can’t say I’m enjoying the season so far, standing in the thatchers end and hearing the boos at full time isn’t really the atmosphere you want when watching the games, I’m very interested to see how they perform in our next game, I personally think with the calling out players is going to back fire, to me he’s lost the dressing room. We didn’t even play a bad side against Swindon and that was a disgrace of a performance.

Should Gerry have been sacked or allowed to build a winning team? We should have sacked him, brought in a better manager who would have secured back to back promotions. This would have cemented our position as a top English side and we now have 70k subscribers to this forum and be moaning about our Champs league performances. The manager will have forced through the stadium at Mangotsfield which now houses 63k supporters and nobody talks of the 82ers any longer.
