It looks as though WSM AFC are well aware of the potential for third parties to have a negative influence on the forthcoming FA Cup Round One fixture.
The details below are a precis of the details regarding the match on their website.
"We can now confirm match and ticketing details for our FA Cup First Round fixture with Bristol Rovers.
This fixture will be played on Saturday 2nd November 2024, with a 3pm kick off.
Bristol Rovers have given us an initial away allocation of 1350.
We received these physical tickets from Bristol Rovers this morning, and after assessing all the available options, we will be selling these tickets in person.
Away South Stand Seating Adults: £16 65+: £11 U21: £11 U14: £6
Away Terrace Standing: Adults: £11 65+: £6 U21: £6 U14: £1
These tickets will go on sale tomorrow before our match with Boreham Wood, in the following phases:
12:30pm – 1:15pm: Season ticket holders 1:15pm onwards: General sale
We will be able to take cash and card payments.
These tickets can be purchased in the Somerset Suite Function Room, which can only be accessed once you are through the season ticket holders entrance or matchday turnstiles. A Boreham Wood matchday ticket is required to proceed through the turnstiles.
We are doing our best to ensure that tickets are only purchased by Weston-super-Mare AFC supporters.
Any remaining tickets will then be sold from Monday 21st October to Friday 25th October from the bar at The Optima Stadium, 11am – 8pm."

Looks like they are using the opportunity to boost their home league crowd as well. Fair play to them

How difficult is it for the club to produce a digital flyer advertising quid a kid (with caveated of attending adult) and send it to every school, youth football club, scouts, guides, cubs, brownies, boys brigade etc in Weston and surrounding areas and South Glos and North and East Bristol?
How long would it take - a max of 3-4 hours costing the club under £100 quid. If 3 kids and two adults attend, they would make a profit.
The could keep the email details and just forward the email the next time we have quid a kid, with 50/50 food, possible shop sale etc
I'm sure if we sent it to some would attend.
The lack of advertising baffles me. A mention on Rovers Twitter and the Rovers website is not sufficient.

The owners said at the q and a we havnt got the spare seated capacity to do it like the Ted's have so we are going to do it the man city way. Well low and behold I see thousands of empty seats at our home matches now so no excuse.

What else can a football club do but mention it on social media, it's not like they can take out adverts in the press or on TV, or in billboards?

If your saying that between multi millionaire owner wael and who the fu*k knows Kuwaiti retail owners we can't afford a few quid on leaflets for schools ,or a couple of hundred quid on a billboard in town then il print some off for them at home myself. Il even deliver them

Fair play to WSM for making an effort to ensure that their tickets do not fall into the wrong hands.
