Keep your hair on !! I'm just letting you know how many goals he's got. why are you assuming i wasn't keeping my hair on. I was asking a genuine iquestion of whether you saw the game, and then posing some general comments / questions for people to think about. it's the internet mate, people seem to read things that don;t exist. There's no need to call him a complete lady garden now is there?

Anyone else give a sigh of relief when he had to go off, well worth keeping tabs on I gave a sigh of relief when he had cramp and went off... Then I realised that was mensah! Mensah looked good as well. Is that the same mensah who was at Barnet earlier in the season? I realise it's quite a common Ghanian name. An old thread when bernard mensah impressed against us in the conference.

I remember this game well - Braintree were probably the best team we played that season. They were superb.
Tbh, I remember one of the wingers absolutely tearing us apart - can't quite remember if it was Akinola & Mensah though

I remember Nathan Blisset running us ragged for Kidderminster.
In 1965 Joe Harverty playing for Millwall tore us apart, Rovers signed him.

I think we have forgotten what the pitches were like in the 70s, by this time of year, there would be no grass down through the middle of the pitch, which when it became ploughed up was covered with sand. Happy days, and it didn't do the game any harm, England won the world cup in 66, all the then 1st Div / Prem clubs, apart from Arsenal who had under ground heating, had a **** pitch this time of year. I personally thought the pitch against Portsmouth was fine, same for both sides, get on with it.
