Antonio, thank you for your ability to show us all how not to behave on a forum, you don't like my ideas and I guess I don't like yours but have I called you names ? if you want to bring this down to a kiddies playground argument then so be it. If I go onto the other forum and shout BOD out every ten seconds I become a better person ? now that is horseshit. I do like the way you put horse s*** into a reply from a person with a horse in the picture, erudite indeed. UTG Are you going to answer the questions I asked you or are you going to stay on your high horse? It seems to me you genuinely believe you are a better person than those who criticise the board, and that your support of the board is somehow morally superior to criticism of it. Also, to be clear, I didn't call you names, I said (two of) your ideas were stupid and your posts were horse sh**. Although I'm not shocked you simply used that as an opportunity to tell everyone how much better your behaviour is. |

Antonio, Your opinions are yours and mine are mine, I have never said mine were better than yours, have I ? what you believe to be my opions are far from true, I have plenty of problems with the board, but to turn every subject raised into 'we hate the board' is just silly. You keep on about horses, are you trying to be clever or is it simply a bit of fun ? I live in a town with many horses do you own a coat and hat like the ones in your little picture ? We can keep this going or behave like adults and move on, I offer my hand in friendship and support of the GAS, your answer is ?

It was just an observation on how quickly this board has deteriorated into name calling by certain people........the very reason why i rarely posted on the OF

NMG, It's not the norm from you granted and I enjoy reading your posts but the threads that I have read lack a certain respect for other peoples views.
There may be history between certain posters, I neither know nor care but its disappointing to read.
I'll continue to lurk and may pop up with the odd point of view, who knows?

A forum is only as good as the people who post there. If its not to your taste, the best solution is to post more.
I would also say I really don't want to keep drawing comparisons with other forums, past or present.
This forum should be a place where all can speak freely. Be it tinters, board bashers or the great undecided.
It's normally good practice to attack the post not the poster. I wouldn't say the insults got too out of hand and in fairness NMG got on with it. I have followed this thread and feel that in the end both posters have said their bit.
I can understand when a bit of name calling can get too much, but that's what the Mods are for.
It would be a boring place here if we all agreed so speak up and speak easy.

Isn't it nice to have name calling etc,back on a forum! Makes you wonder sometimes why we ever bother with forums.
As for the meeting,if you couldn't/didn't want to attend,thats up to you,but people WERE asking for one,if one was not held,that would have been wrong!
I went along as a long time SC member,while I didn't come out at the end full of the joys of spring,i felt that the meeting was NOT a complete waste of time. Also,if you were not there,you cannot get the full picture relying on twitter,other peoples comments etc. Believe or not,there was some "clearing" of the air,not everything is settled etc,but in a way it is a start surely.

We will not be quick to ban or moderate, we discuss all matters collectively as moderators. Pleade remember though what we say and post on here are our own views, we too wish to use the firum like everyone else!
Any moderating done will be labelled as such and you will always get a reason.
Mostly we will let people have their debates. As long as it stays friendly. Some people may be given a chance to calm down and sober up mind!
So far, we have had to do nothing like that.
Speak easy chaps. We all bleed blue.
