. Most of you will know that we held a meeting @ The Wellington Pub Marquee on 10 June. We arranged it because of the lack of news coming from the club. We had no idea how many would attend and of how the meeting would go. On the night over fifty fans turned up and we had an excellent meeting with a full and frank exchange of views and ideas from supporters of all age groups. Since then we have had good coverage in the Bristol Post and Sunday Independent. In the ensuing two weeks there has been little further news from the club. We still do not know the scope, nature and timeline of the review; and to whom it will be made available. No date has been announced for Nick Higgs' Q&A which was to be open to all fans. The SC EGM raised more questions and concerns than answers. To all intents and purposes little, if anything, has changed. In fact some of the points made last night have possibly given some supporters more reason for concern. We feel it is important to agree on which points we would most like answered by the Board, and our responses to some of the things that came out of Tuesday night's SC EGM; that way we will not waste any time when the Q & A takes place. We are reaching out to the club, they have so far refused to reach out to us. We may have to respond in different, smarter ways to inspire change and belief in OUR club again. Therefore we have arranged a second meeting on:
TUESDAY 1st JULY 7.30pm The Wellington marquee. This meeting is open to all Rovers Supporters. We need to keep up the pressure for change. In doing so we need to be constructive, respectful and united. Further details will be posted closer to the date; please try to attend, your opinions count. The more who attend, the louder our voice! I love this Football Club please don't think i am anti-board, i want whats best for our great club. Respectful dignified questioning is needed to make sure no stone is unturned and we never sink as low again Feedback on our previous meeting can be found here: Previous Meeting

Jon, I will make every effort to attend on the evening. It would be nice to get some good news from within the Club.
Hope to see many familiar faces on the evening.

Although Gasheads meeting up is nice, this is primarly to discuss issues we have with the board... at the end of the day they pay his wages and I'd certainly be a little on edge about going to a meeting to effectively hear people slag off my employer....

As an alternative invite him for a part of the meeting, at the start / end. The fans would love it and it may increase participation.

That way OUR club might finally be able to turn the corner and start being successful again through a well-thought out plan so that Success will hopefully be more long-lasting !

Here you are Dins ! This was sent to all those who attended and to others who have been requesting info.
We thought Tuesday's meeting went really well. About 50 people there, all showing an undoubted commitment to the club and wanting steps to be taken to bring about improvement. Besides improvement on the pitch we want to see a far better relationship between the board and the fans and more transparency in the running of the club, i.e. what all the board members actually do as part of their role/place on the board. Other areas covered were the possible appointment of a CEO (with a knowledge of football!) and fresh faces on the board, a Chief Scout who will scout local talent; a genuine footballing philosophy introduced from U8s all the way into the first team (like at Exeter and swansea), and far more reserve/Professional Development games...especially with local clubs. There were sometimes differing views and many spoke; but there was respect throughout. Almost all of the feedback we have received through various channels has been positive.
Since then we...
1.) have sent a THIRD letter to NH and The Board requesting details about the Internal Review and The (apparent) Q & A at the stadium ASAP 2.)We anticipate sending a copy to The Bristol Post and The Sunday Bristol Independent if we do not get a reply from the club. 3.) We will review the outcomes of the Supporters Club EGM (taking place tomorrow) by the time of our next meeting, but also on the night! 4.) We will generate further ideas for protesting in addition to the idea to have a peaceful protest at the first Home League game (turning backs to the game in big groups). 5.) Discuss how we are going to ensure our protest(s) have the maximum effect - e.g. printing and giving out leaflets before the first game outside the stadium. 5.) A provisional date for our next meeting is Tuesday July 1st ( date and venue to be confirmed). Please check forums about 9 to 10 days before or Bristol Post/Sunday Independent. 6.) On the night we will discuss whether to formalise our protest group with a name.
Cheers,
Mark
