Dear Supporters,
There will be another article in The Bristol Post tomorrow explaining what went on at the meeting on June 10th, outlining "supporters" contunuing frustration with the lack of dialogue from the club with the fanbase in general, and with regards to a review of the club's workings. It will also mention why we are having a second meeting on July 1st.
UTG !

Just to let everyone know. We have invited both Bristol Post and Radio Bristol along for Tuesday's Supporters meeting at The Wellie - awaiting replies but we are hopeful. So make sure you comb your hair and your Rovers shirts are nicely pressed !!
If anyone is still hesitating please come along - you will meet a fine crowd of passionate, committed Gasheads like yourselves and this really is about the future of OUR club.
Up The Gas !

. Most of you will know that we held a meeting @ The Wellington Pub Marquee on 10 June. We arranged it because of the lack of news coming from the club. We had no idea how many would attend and of how the meeting would go. On the night over fifty fans turned up and we had an excellent meeting with a full and frank exchange of views and ideas from supporters of all age groups. Since then we have had good coverage in the Bristol Post and Sunday Independent. In the ensuing two weeks there has been little further news from the club. We still do not know the scope, nature and timeline of the review; and to whom it will be made available. No date has been announced for Nick Higgs' Q&A which was to be open to all fans. The SC EGM raised more questions and concerns than answers. To all intents and purposes little, if anything, has changed. In fact some of the points made last night have possibly given some supporters more reason for concern. We feel it is important to agree on which points we would most like answered by the Board, and our responses to some of the things that came out of Tuesday night's SC EGM; that way we will not waste any time when the Q & A takes place. We are reaching out to the club, they have so far refused to reach out to us. We may have to respond in different, smarter ways to inspire change and belief in OUR club again. Therefore we have arranged a second meeting on:
TUESDAY 1st JULY 7.30pm The Wellington marquee. This meeting is open to all Rovers Supporters. We need to keep up the pressure for change. In doing so we need to be constructive, respectful and united. Further details will be posted closer to the date; please try to attend, your opinions count. The more who attend, the louder our voice! I love this Football Club please don't think i am anti-board, i want whats best for our great club. Respectful dignified questioning is needed to make sure no stone is unturned and we never sink as low again Feedback on our previous meeting can be found here: Previous MeetingHi Jon, im definately going next week, wont have any idea who anyone is so how about a round of names and intros briefly at the start Ben Dinsdale

Don't worry Ben (nice to know your name) ! We all introduced ourselves last time and as the chair of the meeting I encouraged speakers to say their name to make it more relaxed (I hope).
Thanks for bumping up the advert.

Dinsdale, that covers about 20% of the club support.

Hmm. Pre arranged questions means pre arranged answers. The board might as well not be there as anyone can talk.

I welcome this as I'm sure ALL supporters do, but I would say this is 2 months later than it should have been ! Fingers crossed I might be one of the privileged 150 !!
Bishopston, you are right - this is the worrying thing. people who went to the EGM also complained there was no chance to ask follow up questions so basically this is a form of censorship - filtering out all the unanswerable/uncomfortable questions.
At the beginning of May on the OF forum I proposed a Question Time format where the board wouldn't know what the questions would be and after answering each question the floor would be open for those present to make a comment or ask a follow up question. I still think it would be great if we could excert some pressure on the club to insist on this format. It is not to catch them out but to allow US supporters to ask all the pertinent questions we would like to ask and give others that chance to respond to the club's answers. This I'm sure will be an item for discussion on Tuesday at The Wellie.
Don't forget everyone we still need lots of answers and changes at the club from Top to Bottom !!

With the news of the Q & A now being known, could I appeal to everyone to still come on Tuesday July 1st to the Wellie. We would like to implement strategies so that we can ensure all the questions we want answering will (hopefully) be answered on the night. Preparing for the Q & A will now form a big part of the agenda for the evening.
Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

Dear Friends I regret I shall be unable to attend this meeting due to a family funeral on the same day and as I have recently come out of hospital, I am unable to drive myself. Nevertheless I do hope to come along to a meeting at a later date providing the aims are positive and to the benefit of Bristol Rovers FC. I look forward to learning the outcome. I have been striving for open meetings for Supporters - hence the recent Supporters Club EGM and Nick's recent pre-match Q and A's. As you will have seen the club have announced a Fans Forum which is open to all members (ticket in advance due to numbers) on 21st July. I do hope you will be able to attend this meeting. To me, the most important thing is open and frank dialogue (that is within the remit allowed) although some claim this is simple an excuse to not communicate which I agree should be and will be much better I hope from here on.
We will continue to support our club through thick and thin and that is why so many people volunteer their services without thought of financial reward. The only reward we seek is a successful and thriving football club in which we can all share in its success. I hope with the changes due to be announced shortly, those days are on their way. I am delighted with the players Darrell has signed and those he has retained. I know more are on the way. Perhaps with work due to start on the new stadium soon the jigsaw is at last starting to come together, but I appreciated there is a very long journey ahead in which we need to all stick together if we are to succeed. May I wish you success with your meeting. Best wishes UTG Brian SS
