For anyone unsure about Brisa and many are they have 600 members and are willing to let fans drive the group. Its likely to be all we have They don't have 600 members, they started at 450. Their membership is about 200 at present.

Hugo, I think that is a fair point. A link to this site would be only just after all it is a supporters group and anything that looks like a specific affiliation to one thing or another should be avoided.
I will mention it on the other forum

One thing I didn't add was the makeup of the crowd.
It wasn't board bashers or idiots there. It was a very broad cross section of fans and views.
There were people who had been part of Black and Gold, staunch SC members, share holders, rose tinters and just regular fans like me. Agreement was almost always reached very quickly which indicated both a common cause and togetherness I was not expecting. I felt that although some in the room had some previous experience with our BOD they were very careful not to impose any agenda on the group other than to speak freely and with respect about their experience.

In fairness they are not trying to hide anything.
I don't think its an uncommon thing to do for things like that either.

I know Hugo, but some would still be all over the BOD for doing it. That is my point.

SC egm being discussed. Higgs said ..... We will have a CEO at UWE. Tony Watola is effective CEO. I think 'effective' is meant to be 'effectively'. The meaning changes hugely! Great to see another good attendance.....good discussion with passion and reason. It occurs to me that if three blokes sitting at a table can get more than half the attendance of the SC EGM with all its organisation and contacts we are doing something right!

Yes, can only echo P49's sentiments above. Thanks to everyone who came last night, away from the Forum's the level of communication between fan's improves due to face to face dialogue, expressions and body language really encourage a better conversation.
What really comes through at these meetings is the level of concern at the clubs position/demise yet dealt with with the manners and respectful discussion required to be taken seriously, made me proud to be in the same room as people who have huge passion for Rovers yet remain dignified.

BRISA membership numbers started at 400 ... basically there was orinally going to be 4 people dealing with memberships ... each person given a starting point.. 100-200 ect one person ended up doing it to start with as the others werent able to there start number was 400 ... hence high numbers handed out. ..
Will add a link to this forum tonight ... its a good idea

I think you've summed that up better than i could have H. Great to meet Russ, lockleazer and Dins for first time, and meet up again with Phil, Hugo and Gregs. UTG

Great to meet some people from here.. cheers from Tom (the bloke stood at the back who talked to much to often!!!) I thought your contribution was valuable. You did well to stick to the issues rather than force your own views but you expressed the right amount of ......ahem, experience in dealing with the BOD. Good idea Tom to put the BRISA details up so it will give all supporters who are unaware a chance to read and make up their minds. I also thought you made some very good contributions. The meeting ran less smoothly than the last one (maybe because of NEW faces and old ones together on the night) but I think overall voices were listened to and heard and we (three) managed to get the consensus opinion noted ready for the next steps.

They don't have 600 members, they started at 450. Their membership is about 200 at present. For real ? why start at 450 thats very odd ? Im 500 and something. It was originally intended to have two people dealing with the applications, setting up of the data base and sending out the confirmations. Unfortunately we only had one and my set up started at 450.
There are 200+ members after two days. No duplicates unless someone has used multiple names, addresses and email addresses.
Link to here is being arranged. Ras has confirmed OK.
Aims and objectives are on the website but I will give here as well:- Campaigns 1. Bristol Rovers are a community club
Bristol Rovers has long been proud of its reputation as a family club, with deep roots in the local community. As an Independent Supporters Association, we will contribute towards greater promotion of the club to the people of Bristol, and choose the Bristol Rovers Community Department as our nominated charity for all fundraising undertaken by BRISA.
2. Board accountability and governance
Constructive criticism of the way that the club is run has been consistently ignored over a number of years, with few signs of change. We commit to campaigning for open dialogue between the Board of Directors and the fans, and a period of openness and reconciliation to heal old wounds.
3. Reform of the club from top to bottom
The football club’s recent relegation into non-league has highlighted the lack of professionalism in many parts of the organisation. We will campaign for reform of the football club from top to bottom, to ensure not only that Bristol Rovers fans have all the services they should expect from a modern 21st century football club, but also to give the club the tools it requires to compete for promotion and beyond.
4. Recognition of the fans as stakeholder and partners of the club.
Over many years the supporters have contributed huge amounts of funds to keep the club afloat and improve the matchday experience. Since moving into the Memorial Stadium, the fans have contributed funds for roofs on terraces and new floodlights for the ground. In addition to this, through the share scheme, fans have contributed more than £1,000,000 in share purchases, We will campaign for greater recognition for the supporters who play such a significant role in securing the future of the football club.
Nothing is cast in stone.
If anyone does not have empathy with the cause please advise me by PM or make your comments. If you do please sign up.

It was a good meeting but I still remain sceptical. I didn't see or hear anything game changing.
I came with an open mind but I still feel the best route would be through the SC, not BRISA.
I enjoyed talking with Dins and hearing Lockleazer speak but I can't help but think they missed the most important thing. You can't and won't change anything at the club from the outside.
Pressure needs to be put on the SC directors through the SC to get the improvements our club needs. If they can't or won't do that, get new people in that will. The guy in the cycle gear gets my vote.
Just my personal view, and does not reflect the views of anyone else or indeed this forum.
