Hugo, it was pretty much cofirmed at the meeting that the board dont involve the supporters directors in decision making and they are completely powerless. Whilst my preference was also a rejuvination of BRSC in reality all they are allowed to do is away travel and tickets as they are affiliated to the club.
Lets hope BRISA get a better level of membership and we direct the Agenda and the q and a and force some positive change at the club. I think if they run and q and a like they ran the supporters club egm we will need to make a big stand at that meeting.

It was a good meeting but I still remain sceptical. I didn't see or hear anything game changing. I came with an open mind but I still feel the best route would be through the SC, not BRISA. I enjoyed talking with Dins and hearing Lockleazer speak but I can't help but think they missed the most important thing. You can't and won't change anything at the club from the outside. Pressure needs to be put on the SC directors through the SC to get the improvements our club needs. If they can't or won't do that, get new people in that will. The guy in the cycle gear gets my vote. Just my personal view, and does not reflect the views of anyone else or indeed this forum. It doesn’t have to be a game changing organisation. I am not involved in BRISA, but right now is the very birth of an organisation that could grow into whatever its members want it to be. Yes it has an aim to give an independent voice, ask questions when needed. Yes the SC can do this, but unfortunately they have been tied to the FC for so long that rightly or wrongly it is perceived often as just an extension of the club BRISA doesn’t have to threaten the SC and the important jobs they do for the club and the fans, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for it to run alongside the SC. If BRISA happens to jolt the SC then is that a bad thing? Outside the SC, BRISA can have its own Home days (if the club allow it) away days, social evenings. Raise money for specified areas of the club, raise money for charity or whatever. It is early days for a supporters group that if it catches on can grow into whatever. It may crash and burn who knows but I think it is best to see beyond BRISA being there just to be a challenging voice and look at what it could be potentially down the line however many years in the future

For real ? why start at 450 thats very odd ? Im 500 and something. It was originally intended to have two people dealing with the applications, setting up of the data base and sending out the confirmations. Unfortunately we only had one and my set up started at 450.
There are 200+ members after two days. No duplicates unless someone has used multiple names, addresses and email addresses.
Link to here is being arranged. Ras has confirmed OK.
Aims and objectives are on the website but I will give here as well:- Campaigns 1. Bristol Rovers are a community club
Bristol Rovers has long been proud of its reputation as a family club, with deep roots in the local community. As an Independent Supporters Association, we will contribute towards greater promotion of the club to the people of Bristol, and choose the Bristol Rovers Community Department as our nominated charity for all fundraising undertaken by BRISA.
2. Board accountability and governance
Constructive criticism of the way that the club is run has been consistently ignored over a number of years, with few signs of change. We commit to campaigning for open dialogue between the Board of Directors and the fans, and a period of openness and reconciliation to heal old wounds.
3. Reform of the club from top to bottom
The football club’s recent relegation into non-league has highlighted the lack of professionalism in many parts of the organisation. We will campaign for reform of the football club from top to bottom, to ensure not only that Bristol Rovers fans have all the services they should expect from a modern 21st century football club, but also to give the club the tools it requires to compete for promotion and beyond.
4. Recognition of the fans as stakeholder and partners of the club.
Over many years the supporters have contributed huge amounts of funds to keep the club afloat and improve the matchday experience. Since moving into the Memorial Stadium, the fans have contributed funds for roofs on terraces and new floodlights for the ground. In addition to this, through the share scheme, fans have contributed more than £1,000,000 in share purchases, We will campaign for greater recognition for the supporters who play such a significant role in securing the future of the football club.
Nothing is cast in stone.
If anyone does not have empathy with the cause please advise me by PM or make your comments. If you do please sign up.
35 more to be added from overnight and up to 10am.

I liked the idea of approaching the club to provide a location for future meetings, could they afford to turn down the opportunity to make some money from bar profits?
Still trying to work out who was who, Dins, Hugo were you guys at the front on the left?

Await confirmation that the club have offered their facilities for future meetings!

No, I wasn't intending to apply.
I like to keep my head down and myself to myself in meetings.

Re. the Club Q&A - I'm not one for public speaking, so if I applied, and was successful, do you think the Chair of the Q&A would read the question out on my behalf?
I know this sounds really woosie, but I have genuine reasons.

Just seen a quick clip on the lunchtime news. A shot of the marquee and the people at the top table. Hopefully we'll see the interview on the evening show. Good work guys!

The guy in the cycle gear gets my vote. That will be the ex Chairman of the Supporters Club. Great guy.
Might be worth asking him the inside track on the Supporters Club and how it worked a while back?

John was very open about the club, it was very interesting indeed. He was a great leader and public speaker. Lots of worrying stories about those at the top of our club were shared by lots of people in the know present. Just wish more had been there. One thing I really took away is that the supporters club are not there to challenge the club, they voted to sell out the share scheme and that any attempts to improve the club will have to be driven by us the joe average supporters.

I'm sure I must have missed it somewhere but has there been or will there be any minutes from the meeting? Minutes of the first meeting were indeed on here after two or three days, so no doubt the same will happen with Tuesday nights meeting
