Good afternoon : I posted a thread which is now locked could you please explain why and more to the point why we cannot discuss the subject matter of Bideford Gas' thread i realise it is an uncomfortable subject but in my opinion it needs discussing otherwise the forum is being run to please a few at the cost of others (and ggmi by disliking a post is not going to make its content/problem disappear!) it regards a recurring issue that in my opinion is not being sodding dealt with - Thank you in advance

Furthermore i bring to your attention a previous post from mods : However, GGMI, winding other posters up will no longer be tolerated. GGMI - You've admitted that you do it, but for the good of the forum, it has to stop here, today. Also please change your avatar as IMO, it's just asking for trouble. In return, going forward I will ensure that anyone giving you unwarranted sh*t is dealt with appropriately. However, if you fail to stop goading people and winding them up, I will have no choice but to ban you. I don't want that to happen as there are plenty of examples of you adding real value to this forum.
Now no-one wants to gang up on anyone but this poster has been rude/abusive AGAIN so either grow a set or tell us to put up or sod off then we can make our own minds up! I sympathise you have a difficult job but this is a regular issue that requires action -Thank you

I sadly have to add weight to this subject as it has now cost the FFSC two extremely valuable members who i personally now consider friends and i am very saddened they now feel unable to post on here - I ask that the subject matter be considered and dealt with on behalf of other FFS/GasChat members who know and regard Gashead Blues and Bideford as well respected Gasheads - i realise it's not comfortable to discuss but cannot stand by and just watch good Gasheads move on I can only imagine Unigas will also miss their significant contribution - btw nothing personal against the particular poster but a solution to this problem needs to be found and quickly - Regards & UTG

Well perhaps allowing another Gashead to also have his opinion would have been better and if that person wants to give a player 1/10 that's his right! It's a fair enough point. Frankly I'm not up to fulfilling the role so I'm stepping down. When the forum came to being, the role of moderator was an easy one. These days it's anything but and I don't have the time to be honest. I'm also the sort of person who avoids confrontation wherever possible, hence taking action when it's maybe deemed required by some it's something I'm simply unable to do. The role is better suited to someone else. |

These days it's anything but and I don't have the time to be honest. Tbh I just don't have the time. When I took up the role, we had somewhere between 50 to 100 members; now there are thousands!
Following the issues over the weekend, the first I found out about it was late last night, as it was the first time I managed to get on over the weekend.
I'm going to become a father shortly and, as a result, I'll have even less time.
So thanks for the kind words, but I do believe that the position would be better suited to someone else.
I'm not leaving completely though and will still post on here.

it's all pretty sad this....
the OF was shut because it 'apparently' it became impossible to moderate....
slowly over a couple of years the same is happening here, it's all a bit reminiscent of George Orwells animal farm....

I don't think it would ever need to close. However, it might get to a point where we don't have a modding team and then this place really would go to the dogs. I agree more has to be done and I'll hold my hands up that I've stood back a bit from the forum over the last couple of weeks as it's just got ridiculous on here. I could have come down hard on the muppets on here but there wouldn't be much of the forum left. In my opinion a lot of the trouble on here isn't just certain posters starting things it's those on the other end who can't let go or ignore anything. The slightest thing whether its ill intentioned or otherwise and half the forum seems to be on it like a dog on a bone. |
