The suspense is killing me...
Btw - maybe they know stuff about you that you don't realise they know about you?

Padstow I don't know what the problem is? You said all you want was a trial for this very secretive player. You were told to write to Rovers to get this trial!!! What's the problem? The letter will take less than 24 hours to get there.

I heard last week of a Latvian under 21 international midfielder/striker coming to England looking for a club,so going into the ground yesterday I saw Ian Holtby and Marcus Stewart and started to tell them of the player,i was given the brush off and told to get the player to write to the club asking for a trial, like he is going to do that. It strikes me that a) the club aren't interested in new players and b) definitely not interested in recommendations from anyone outside of the inner circle. This is not the first time over the years have recommended a player to the club and have been ignored, but it will definitely be the last reminds me of the old adage 'offence can only be taken, not given'. You use the emotive laden phrase 'given the brush off', as well as 'ignored' but it was a match day so maybe MS could be cut a bit of slack when he's trying to do his job; namely help get US a win on THIS day? Why not write to them instead of interrupt a professional doing his job. Full detailsof how to get a trial are on the web site for EVERYONE to see, even plebs like me. They are very short & simple. In an age where few people seem to value information and clear procedures I'm suprised that an older gentleman can't manage to see the positive side of this. If they had spoke to you for 1min and then said "tell him to come along at 10am on Tuesday" I'd actually be unhappier as any job has to have a workable, professional system in place.

Padstow, if the guy has a trial game set up, perhaps some one from the club could go if it is not behind closed doors.
I'd suggest that you still let the club know the details.

Yesterday was probably a bad time to try and have a discussion about a prospect. Ian certainly isn't the right person to approach anyway, rather Marcus, Steve Y, Darrell himself, or maybe hand a note to Foley? You must know that they are going to need at least a letter with some tangible evidence that this kid exists? Just pen a note and get it in. Don't let your pride prevent Rovers from having a chance at the gem you may have uncovered.

You have to type a email out The problem isn't the procedure, the problem is that Padstow should be above such petty tribulations. I would imagine that it took a lot of self-control for him not to shout "DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO I AM" after someone as lowly as Ian Holtby snubbed his most valuable tip, for that we should commend him.

What's the problem? All he had to do was type out a email. If he is desperate for this player to get a deal why wont he give his name? If I wanted a deal that bad id be shouting my name from the roof-tops, not oh his name is a secret. Why cant Padstow just admit his bullshit got found out?
