Ah, the Lisbon Treaty, which formerly went under the name of the EU Constitution. I believe both France and Holland voted "No" to the EU Constitution. The UK were denied a vote because these two countries had already voted "No", so there was no need for a vote. The EU just changed the 'Constitution' into a 'Treaty' thereby negating the need for a public vote in any country. The Treaty was then ratified by the politicians without consulting the voting public. Democracy at it's finest. I know, you may recall last year we had a similar discussion and I provided some links to various referendum results. I was referring specifically to the Treaty of Lisbon. That said, I do agree about the lack of democracy, I am surprised the out campaigns don't make more of it. Maybe they will as we get closer to polling day. Anyway, I am off on some much needed holiday shortly so behave yourselves ;-)
