Wasn't sure or not to post this but having spoken to a few of my Gashead friends they thought it would be the correct thing to do.So please read on .A couple of weeks ago i was told that i have Prostate Cancer and as you can imagine it was not something that you want to be told. But i am very positive about it as i have been told that it has been caught early and the prognosis is good.I am having my opp 25th of this month to remove the prostate ,then it will be a while to recover and get back to as normal as i can.The main reason i am posting this is NOT to gain any sympathy but to say to you guys out there that it's a simple blood test and advice from your GP that could save your life.I had and still have no symptoms whatsoever and am a quite fit 59 year old bloke.I found out that i had this problem because i have had regular tests over the last few years , the first few were normal then the PSA level started to rise which indicated that there might be a problem (PSA level is used as an indicator but have been told this isn't always the case that there is or isn't a problem so seek professional advice as i am not qualified i'm just letting you know what happened in my case. Men United have a website with info i have been told also).......I am posting this i suppose to make my negative into a positive .....if just one of you reading this thinks yeah i'm going to get checked out then i have succeeded.......Thanks for reading.
Dont worry fellow Gasheads i will still be on Kettle duty for the first games of the season......Kettle on .....UTG mods please don't move this post as i want as many of you to read as possible ....Thanks.

All the best mate, you'll be fighting fit in no time. Wish Id've known about a blood test. Cos of insurance over here they start testing at 50. That was February this year, but had the test the "old fashioned" way. I couldn't be a doctor that's for sure. All the best, and as always UTG!

All the best mate, I sort of know what you're going through, my old man had his prostate out a few years back. Touch wood he seems to be doing well. There are plenty of people out there who can help you with everything. Macmillan were brilliant, he had 2 months off work, they helped pay his bills and everything. As I said all the best, and keep informed how you're getting on!
