The reason the Tories did not attack the Labour manifesto on numbers is that the record of A) The last seven years would be subject to proper scrutiny B) Their own manifesto was not costed

The good news. We still have a Tory majority government. The DUP are just Irish Tories, although they may have some strange demands, like "pray the Gay away", or a statue of Billy on a White Charger atop Buckingham Palace. It's a slim majority. The next couple of MP's who croak it will make those particular by-elections interesting. Sweeping statement, given a lot of the DUP are on different lines re: Brexit, and as you say support a lot of sketchy social stuff. Northern Irish politics is chaotic at best and the UK government is now reliant on it. Utterly incompetent PM, still amazed she's managed to screw it this badly when this election was supposed to 'crush the saboteurs'.

There must be a massive problem with this government if a left wing Labour party gets the biggest swing since World War 2. If you look at this country objectively how can we arrive at a situation where almost everyone employed by a Premier League club are millionaires yet funding for the sick and disabled is cut. I see this first hand as I work in social care, it really is amazing now what happens due to the cuts. All this while the well paid do their damnedest to avoid paying any income tax at all. Perhaps nature has a way of redressing the balance?

They were too complacent to do it. They believed that Theresa May intoning, "Strong and stable" every time she appeared before the cameras; combined with, " Do you really want to see Jeremy Corbyn running the country?", would be enough to win them a working majority. It wasn`t.

I have to laugh. 7 years after the "New Labour" project demise, and the Tories still cannot put together a policy platform that adds up nor one that people can believe in. Looking back, when was the last tome they did, 1988, nearly 30 years ago. Pathetic, even a bloke like Corbyn, who avoids the long term economic impacts of his policies and gambles on a 100% return on public investment (Really!) can take seats off them. With a competent opposition the Tories would be decimated and become as split as Foots labour party in 1983. This country is being governed by clowns You should have been a hedge fund manger. That`s certainly what you do with your bets. Do you EVER give an opinion, prior to an event?

As a Glaswegian proddy, I would be more than happy to put my hand in my pocket to help fund that. And, it`s King Billy to you.

Just a point of view, but in Germany Merkel has NEVER had a majority. She always rules through coalition. I think at the moment her party, the CDU, is in coalition with the Greens, which is a pairing that is hard to imagine, but there you go.

But she has a personal mandate which allows her to dominate that coalition And, she is consistent.

Gotta laugh, Tories only hope now lies with pairing up with a unionist, anti-gay rights, Soft Brexit Northern Irish Party, although saying that I'm pretty sure they'd side with the devil himself for power!

That my friends, is what happens when people don't get off their f**king arses and vote. Let's look forward to 6 months of chaos. What are you on about. It is the highest turnout for 20 years! I'm on about people not bothering to vote. What's 20 years got to do with it? If everyone voted we wouldn't have had such a close run. 68% turnout during a very important period for the UK sums this country and many attitudes up. I guess it's the fault of politics itself for alienating so many people.

I think it's going to end up closer than people think. It's a 2 horse race more than its ever been with Lib Dems a joke and UKIP a spent force. Many non Tory supporters may find themselves reluctantly backing Labour through lack of choice rather than actual support for them. Be interesting to see where the UKIP vote goes though. Do I win a prize?
