In all of the ups and downs that we go through as Gasheads the most important thing is that we remain the "Gashead Family".
The thoughts of all of us in that family go with you.
With all the very best in your fight - we are with you.

If anyone has any comments regarding the improvement (or otherwise) of the toilet facilities please would you let me know as it is something that I have been trying to monitor from the fans point of view. I can channel these back to TG. I would be grateful if you would be as specific as possible (yuck). It isn;t always the easiest of things to do, either for you describing your experiences, or for me trying to monitor them!!!! Steve Lamble Supporters Club Director Steve, Thank you for your question, I would ask you and a female colleague/friend to visit the toilets in each section of the stadium at half time and be completely honest and ask yourselves “would I be happy using these facilities? and would i be happy for members of my family to use these facilities?” Only then can you understand. With total respect don’t ask others to do what you can quite easily do yourself. I respect your support and the time you put into helping our club become better 👍🏾 Equaliser, Many thanks for your constructive comment. Just to put my original comment/ question into perspective, I should have also mentioned that I did do a review of the toilet facilities at last saturday's game. Also, I did bring a female friend (Not a Gashead - YET) who was able to gain access to the Ladies facilities. The purpose of my review was to ask myself exactly the questions that you raised and then to report those comments back to the Club. I reviewed the facilities in the lead up to the game and just after halftime. Unfortunately time pressures, and the fact that I currently cannot access all areas of the Ground, meant that I couldn't get to areas like the East Stand/terrace. I was writing my "review" for the Club when, coincidentally, I saw the OP on the forum. So - having seen MTFCs OP, I took the opportunity to ask the forum for any comments that they had and I have added those comments to my report, which has now been submitted. Some of the comments have been non specific and generally fall into the "Disgusting" category. Whilst these are difficult to relay in any specific and meaningful way, the very scary thing is that some people are genuinely scared to bring their kids to the games because of the facilities. This cannot be right. I want to do everything I can do (whilst I am in a position to have a meaningful influence) to ensure that fans feel comfortable in attending games and, equally importantly, that they feel comfortable to bring their kids with them (as they represent the future gashead generations). If this issue is one that stands in the way of that, it is an issue that needs to be addressed and I welcomed the notes in the Programme advising that the Club were also trying to improve the situation. I will continue to pass any comments that you have back to the Club. My reports will not mention your names. However, I would prefer it if your comments are specific. We have done the "Disgusting" comments - I need them to be specific so that I can identify the specific areas that need improvement. Steve Lamble I think that I probably do have a title but I don't know what it is

Many thanks for your comments and especially those that PM'd me on the subject.
I can confirm that I have collated the comments related to the issue of Mem Facilities and have fed them back to the Club and that these comments have now been aacknowledged as part of the project to upgrade the facilities.
Some of your comments were unrelated to this particular issue - I have noted these but have not reported them to the club as yet.

Just to confirm that I will be available on Saturday 26th before the Wycombe game to answer any questions that you might have regarding the Supporters Club or my role as a Director of the Football Club.
It will also be an opportunity for you to pass any comments onto the Management of the Football Club. Whilst I will be as open as I can be, you will obviously appreciate that there are some areas on which I will be unable to comment and we hope that you will understand if this is the case with your specific questions.
I will be in the Thatchers Bar overlooking the pitch between 1pm and 2pm.
I will then be in the Butcombe Bar in the East stand on 2nd September again between 1pm and 2pm

Anyone having issues with payment being taken, tried all three cards I have logged to my account but the payment keeps getting declined? Pete now saying TM have fixed this Pete Weymouth is an absolute star. I had the same problem and it got fixed. He will be dealing with a mass of queries today as we launch the new season on "refreshed systems". Please be courteous and kind - he will work his heart out for you.

Austalian players being heckled by members in the Long Room, along with a bit of jostling - who knew it was this boistorous! Born and bread in Bath, my team is Somerset - is that allowed now that I live just over the border in Wiltshire? I'm with you entirely on this, Tilly. I was even on the books of the Somerset Academy in my early days!!! Don't listen to any of them - there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a Somerset supporter whilst being a fervent Gashead at the same time.

A tad embarrassing you admit to not knowing who scdave is he has been around for decades works on matchdays selling 50/50s programmes etc He was Social secretary organising lots if events and may not be on the Committee his choice I believe but a valued Sc member indeed. In fact Steve your biography on your official website needs something other than your name! A photo and brief biography as I as a longstanding Sc member have no idea who you are or what you look like I feel your openness may have opened old wounds on here and some posters who never ever had any interest or intention of joining your merry band may take this opportunity to wind you up. I sincerely hope your efforts to improve communication continues but why has it taken this long? The only people who would really know who SC Dave is are the people who would know the man behind the username. Have you ever sought Steve L out to introduce yourself? Just wondering. It's actually refreshing to have a SC member come on here welcoming communication and questions. The last one that came on here just wanted to cause trouble, using a pseudonym of course. This should be welcomed. If you ask nicely, he might be able to sort out a few pre-match maths lessons next to the fan zone?! Gashead1981, Many thanks for one of the more supportive responses that were received. One of the criticisms that was made was in response to the fact that I couldn't guarantee to respond to questions with an immediate response. To a certain extent it will always be difficult to do this but, as a moderator, is there any chance that you could make this easier for me by setting up a "Pinned Thread" called "Directors Questions". This would certainly help. If you would like to give me a call to discuss I am happy to talk. Steve Lamble

If I’m honest (and with total respect) I’m not sure what the Supporters Club does anymore, or what difference you make? Could you enlighten us who know little about your services/actions. Thanks in advance. Hi slam , have you gone back into your radio silence? I hope you haven’t taken my question as an attack on you or the SC, I genuinely would like to know more, and until myself and others realise what you all do how can we become involved? many thanks. Hi Mr Equaliser, No... I haven't relapsed back into radio silence but, at the moment, I simply don't have the time to be constantly reviewing the various threads on the forum. So I apologise for the times when I can't get straight back to you. In addition, whilst your question itself is short and concise, if I am to answer it fully this might become a lengthy response. The Supporters Club itself has a number of Objectives written into its constitution. These include: 1) To Create and develop active support and lively interest in the activities of Bristol Rovers Football Club 2) To render assistance and support to BRFC 3) To cater for the interests of Supporters Club Members 4) To administer the Supporters Club Share Scheme Agreement.
In recent years the FC has made a number of significant changes to modernise its operations. It is true to say that some of these changes have resulted in a reduction in the benefits that the Supporters Club can offer to its members. For instance I would point to the fact that the SC is no longer able to operate the "Supporters Club Bar". The FC has also taken responsibility for running the 50/50 draw (although the SC do continue to organise and provide the selling of 50/50 and program sellers on a matchday).
At the moment, the only concrete benefits of SC membership are:
1) The availability of discounted away travel, organised by the SC Committee 2) Entitlement to Category 2 Priority for the purchase of "All Ticket" matches. 3) The fact that the SC are entitled to appoint 2 Directors to the main board of the FC. Through these Directors you are able to present your own views directly to the Club. Furthermore SC Members are themselves able to apply for election to the post of Director and if any one would seriously like to consider this as an option I will happily sit down and discuss this with you.
The SC are aware of the reduction in benefits that are available and are currently working actively to provide more. The SC is also in the process of modernising itself to adapt to the new challenges. However, I might be naive in saying this but sometimes I think that the question should be reversed. Instead of asking "what benefits do I get?", you might also like to think of "what you can offer the Club?". By joining the SC you are helping to support both the SC and the FC. We need a strong SC to enable us to act on your behalf and the fortunes of the Club always improve when the Club and the Fans work together.
In spending the money that we raise:
The SC have already announced that they are working with the Club with a view to funding a project which will act to the benefit of the Supporters. We are currently in advanced negotiations to agree the nature of this project (or series of projects).
The SC are the prime sponsors of the GAS Girls
We have raised a significant donation in direct support of Nick Anderton and, to a lesser degree to the support the Marcus Stewart charity appeal.
We are always looking to identify other areas where we can directly impact on the Club and the Community.
I have probably missed a lot of stuff but I hope that this helps for the time being.

Any reasons for radio silence on here? Scdave gives us reports of things going on but nothing from yourself since October? Not picking, just wondering. In retrospect, I might have been wrong about the radio silence bit - but it has been difficult to differentiate between the activities of the Supporters club and the responsibilities of an "Associate Director" of the FC. I think I have been concerned that if I can't fully differentiate between those roles then how the hell can I expect you to understand the role in which I report things. I do not know who SCDAVE is and, although he does report on SC Matters, he definitely isn;t a member of the Executive Committee of the SC. If I am being honest, I think I assume that most of you will get your info about the SC Activity by directly reading the content of the Supporters Club Website - This contains the majority of the information that you need. Everybody on the Executive Committee is a volunteer (Including myself and Helen). They all work tirelessly for the benefit of the FC and the SC and I would ask you to give them the true respect that they deserve for the hours of work that they put in. I would urge you to keep an eye Out for SC News and SC Initiatives by keeping up to date with our website and twitter/facebook feeds. I had two great wishes when I joined the SC: 1) That we could grow the membership of the SC to be a truly representative group of all of the supporters of the FC. It is the most effective way in which you can pass your views back to the FC via the SC Directors. I would urge as many of you as can to join on this basis alone, although there are other benefits of membership.
2) To see a greater number of fans attending the games. The fact that we are now running at near capacity is not down to me BUT it remains massively important that we continue to turn up week in week out. It not only improves the atmosphere but in the fickle world of football finances, the more bums that we get on seats, the stronger we can become as a club. Please don;t stop in your support and bring your friends and family!!!

Tilly,
They are all extremely good questions - deep breath and I will do my best to give you a precis of the situation.........
The Articles of Association do give the right for the Supporters Club to appoint an "Associate Director". The definition of an Associate Director is contained in the AoA but I am not in the office at the moment and I do not have direct access to quote from them. However, I believe that the definition confers the right to attend FC Board Meetings but does not confer voting rights or legal responsibilities to the FC. To a certain extent the AoA are a red herring in this.
In addition to the AoA, there is a separate Legal Agreement between BR(1883)Limited and the Supporters Club which entitles the SC to put forward 2 Full Directors of the FC who will sit on the Board as Full Non-Executive Directors and will have voting rights and will assume the full legal responsibilities of any "normal" Company Director. The legal agreement emanates from the "SC Share Scheme" which effectively permitted Supporters Club Members to purchase Shares in the FC at a time when we were in financial difficulties.
The "SC Directors" have to be members of the SC and are elected by a vote amongst the SC Members. However, under the terms of the SC Share Agreement, the FC also have the power to veto any individual selection, in the event that they do not deem the individual to be an "appropriate person". The SC election of Helen and I, as SC Nominated Directors, took place in and around the COVID pandemic which caused obvious problems. One of the consequences of this was that the FC were unable to undertake their due diligence checks on us as individuals. Because of this, amongst other things, it was agreed that, in the first instance, we would serve as "Associate Directors" only. Our first Board Meeting took place via Zoom in December 2021. Since then we have built up what I would like to think of as a good working relationship with the FC and, at the AGM in January 2023, it was announced that both of us were to be offered full directorships in compliance with the SC Share Agreement.
Hopefully, we have served well in these positions but it has also been a learning curve for all parties at a time when the management structure of the Club has gone through massive structural change. On the Pitch we have suffered a Down and an UP with lots of mini peaks and troughs along the way. However we share exactly the same ambitions as every supporter, every member of the Board and every member of the Staff for the future of the Club.
Being a Supporters Representative on the Board of the Football Club has its own difficulties;
1) Whilst needing to represent the interests of the Supporters of the Club we can be privy to information that our responsibilities as Company directors mean that we cannot immediately share
2) There can be conflicts of interests - which we as individuals need to be able to reconcile.
3) We need to be able to accept the legal responsibilities that are placed on us.
4) We need to be able to make a difference.
I sincerely hope that we can achieve these things. I would like to hope that I can rely on you as Supporters to continue to support the Club - we have the greatest set of supporters in the world and this has been more than shown by the attendances and atmosphere ate the Mem this season. Long may that continue.

Hi All, It is a very long time since I posted on here but I thought that I needed to break my "Radio Silence". As some of you might know, I am one of the Supporters Club Directors on the Board of the Football Club. I understand that some of you might not know me, but there are historic reasons for that. So, one of the purposes of this e-mail is to advise you and, any other gashead, that it was approved at the recent Supporters Club EC Meeting that I intend to make myself available for Q&A's on a monthly basis with effect from the start of next season. Initially it is anticipated that this will happen on the first Saturday Home Fixture of each month. The venue of these sessions will be advertised in due course. In the meantime, I am happy to respond to questions in here (perhaps the moderators could facilitate this in some way) or received via my BRSC e-mail address. Please note that there are areas where my legal responsibilities as a Director will not permit a direct answer - but you already know this. The second reason for this post is that I would like to draw your attention to the Players Awards for the end of the 2022/23 Season. Full details are posted on the Supporters club website, the Supporters Club Facebook page and the Supporters Club Twitter Account. Links to each of these pages are shown below:SC Website: bristolroverssc.co.uk/vote-in-our-end-of-season-awards/SC Facebook: bristolroverssc.co.uk/vote-in-our-end-of-season-awards/?fbclid=IwAR2uK9c_Xr9XGkb6xzC0_trai3xP8ryyLpaWNSzLCoULN4plWVSu0JlhTy0 SC Twitter: twitter.com/BristolRoversSC
All votes will be gratefully received.

Hi All,
I would just like to reiterate the news that the Supporters Club will be holding another bucket collection in aid of Nick Anderton at Saturday's Game against Plymouth. Further information is on the Supporters Club website.
Hopefully, we will have a bumper crowd and that will transform itself into another bumper collection for Nick. The Supporters Club have a few more collectors lined up for Saturday too. If any Gashead has any inclination to make a contribution can I ask you to bring cash and, if you would like your name added to the list of donors, please will you put your contribution in a sealed envelope with your name printed on the front.
I would like to confirm that this is an opportunity for all Gasheads to make a contribution. This is an initiative from the Supporters Club on behalf of all fans such that we can show Nick that we all belong to the Gas Family. It is entirely separate from the additional support that is being provided directly by the Football Club.
Finally, thank you so much for your support.

Hi All,
A huge thanks to everyone who donated on Saturday - we raised the sum of £408.13 which will be added to those donations already made by bank credit. I would like to remind you that this is a Fans initiative that allows the Fans to provide their own measure of support for Nick and to show him that we are all a part of the Gas Family.
We will be running a similar collection at the Plymouth game (hopefully with more collection points this time). Please see the Supporters Club website for more details.
Again - a huge thanks.

PS - There seem to be two threads on this subject - I have left this message on both
