Big screen / scoreboard update
I am not often “itk” but I am on this
The new scoreboard has been procured and is awaiting wiring and installation . It’s one of those funky ones that replays goals etc . Like everyone else has had for ten years
Electrical contractor is ready and willing (despite having to throw in a winding up order to get paid for works undertaken in bar and new shop last summer )
So we need a frame for the scoreboard to sit in, steel fabricator required
Clever steel Fabricator will not extend credit and has sent in a pro-forma invoice
It’s assumed said invoice is sitting on Tom Gorringes desk awaiting checkatrade funds to pay
So if we beat Sunderland we might have the screen before end of season
But don’t quote me on that and I only said might

I think he’s got swagger , size and will make a massive impact
He won more headers in 40 mins than Payne did in six months
He looks about ready to rip someone’s arm off and beat them to death with it
Sadly yesterday he didn’t do it to the ref

Think Ogogo needed more support today.. no one really got stuck in to help win the ball ... Yep missed Ollie Clark today lines worked for the early bit of the first half then reverted to type

Ricketts ought to reflect on the naive timing of his double substitutions. If I remember correctly he made a double substitution as we were waiting to take a free kick. Rodman then headed home unchallenged in acres of space. I assume the Shrewsbury players were still sorting out who should be marking whom. That error by the manager may have cost his team two points. Spot on he made a further sub again before a free kick in 2nd half

In recent memory we haven't bought goal scoring forwards
We've made them
This regime hasn't the dough to buy anyone proven
It's going to be ugly frustrating and painful I fear
But no point in hand wringing we have to get behind them and be the 12th man
And that is something we've been good at over the years

Ten mins to go you sub Lines off and put in a defensive midfielder to snuff them out
We were hanging on last 15 and THD came forward to right mid / bang on where the goal came from
Gaps in basic tactics like this should not be dissected after the match

I'd suggest you ask this post the semi final It will be less or more emotive at this point I abstain post semi it will be a no I think it'll be interesting to see the results here & IF we win, to see how much it would change Not as interesting as going to Wembley and sliding into league two though

Would be delighted if true... He was offered to us in the summer but our then manager couldn’t agree game time with Bournemouth. You can see our then managers dilemma what with Nicholls smashing all those goals in last season

He called his players pristine
He really meant precious I think. They have to be told they're good.
Really?
Not on Saturdays performance
Cogs saw what we saw and he said it like we would
We should back this man
Clearly the team / dressing room dynamic isn't right. Old hands like Lines, Sincs, Lockyer, Ollie Clarke, James Clarke. They are the vestiges of the last four years
They should be stepping up and showing the "snowflakes " what being Rovers is all about

Let's look at it this way
He's egging GC on to sail us to Wembley - why?
A great day out to deflect from the main task ?
Hmmmmm

I really do not see why GC should worry about a Stadium or a training Ground as he is manager of the club and his job is getting the right results on the pitch whether that be the Mem,Shrewsbury, Walsall or wherever we play. Failure to get the ground or a training ground will not get him the sack but poor results will. From memory only I can never remember a previous Manager moaning about a Stadium and that is going back to 1986!! At the end of the day the Manager is paid to get results. The Owners take care of the day to day running of the Football Club. DC has been on dangerous ground all season because if you are going to forever criticise your boss you have to ensure that you are doing your job well. This sounds an awful lot like you want someone with no ambition and is only here for their pay packet, managing the side? I'll say something again that I've also said previously we achieve on the pitch, the team make the Mem untenable, we start to assault the L1 play offs and automatics then the rest HAS to follow Ambition on the pitch is more critical than having 6000 gas heads rattling about in some soulless vacuum on the outskirts of town ever been to MK Dons ? I have and it isn't for me the season starts here and we have a mountain to climb - nothing like a good relegation battle to focus the mind on what's really important Sod the stadium Sod the training ground Sod the Checkatrade we we should only have one ambition right now and it's a four month process - 52 pts

I think DC did us proud and forever grateful but he strangled himself this season getting twisted about things he had no control over
I think the vast majority of fans were torn about him - divided in our minds between loyalty to the club and loyalty to the man
I've said this before on other threads - he wasn't the chairman , he was paid to get us results and it didn't happen
I never once called for his head but realisation that his stubborn fixation with Nicholls, tinkering and "projects" DID NOT WORK THIS SEASON made anything other than the action taken absolute folly
I shudder to think where we would be now without the ten Xmas points ......
So Coughlan deserves his chance, he gets what we are all about and is unfettered by broken promises and ideas above our level
I think he will restore pride in the shirt and confidence and that can take you a long way .....

Man's a winner think we will see prettier football if we achieve 52 points, talks sense loved DC but could not fathom the pep clarkiola approach at the end. Simple instructions to players the man's going to be a good fit at our club. He's won f**k all yet. How about we just calm down and see how we get on. Be fair he's won four games

Been to Wembley with rovers twice already
This is so far down my radar I can't really enunciate it

I think that it is good from the club as long as they have mitigated the risk if we were to go down (ie- a relegation release clause from the clubs side on the 2.5 years). If Coughlan keeps us up from the situation that we were in then In my eyes he has earned the right to have a crack at it longer term. BUT...I cant stop thinking back to 'that' DC interview where he said that there would be budget cuts over the next 12 months, and wondering if the board have used this as a cost cutting exercise... Think booting DC out and tucking £0.5m into his back pocket to see him on his way could hardly be construed as a cost cutting exercise
