It would be a crying shame to get relegated after the last few seasons but to be realistic when viewed as whole the club HAS gone backwards 16/17 - tenth 17/18 - thirteenth Currently one spot off the drop zone on GD Waving DC goodbye and appointing the new Messiah may well have been the thing to do and early indications are it was But I will def take one spot off relegation when the seasons over and then we will see what this board, squad and new management regime are all about Ambition has long been in short supply so let's not get excited about 8th and the playoffs Good balanced post. I love optimism but good times at rovers come in 20-25 year cycles 🚲 my dad thinks it, I think it, my ten year old son is expecting another promotion just prior to his 30th birthday - I'm very glad I took him to Wembley and very glad he was there when Browner popped in that rebound . You just never know what year the next time that will happen will be all these guys on talk sport on Saturdays griping about not finishing in the top 4 Premier League - they have no fun whatsoever in their lives |

He talks the talk, lets see if he can walk the walk
I'll take those ten points and if he delivers another ten in the next 3-4 weeks we shall pretty much be out of the mire
He seems gas material, a down to earth battler with underdog spirit
So let's get behind him and the squad and live to fight another season in L1

Why couldn't he play a settled team
Why couldn't he see beyond Nicholls
I get he was frustrated at the stadium / training ground but keep achieving on the pitch and the rest HAS to follow
He's not the chairman his job was to win football matches and post the Christmas run it appears the squad have that in them - how can Coughlan and 6-8,000 gas see what he couldn't
What could have been eh?

Not sure why anyone is thinking beyond Coughlan
He's the cheapest option and a very well placed source tells me that's the way it will stay for short - med term
He also knows the players the best so unlikely to see much in the way of January action
Already dropped Nichols and Payne so shows some signs of having his own ideas on things
Could become popular very quickly if we string a few wins together

There was a very strong rumour around the club DC would be gone on or by Monday
And that's proven to be the case
I fully expect the next manager to be a suit with a jelly for a back bone

DC has to stay
He has to look every player in the eye and decide whether to keep or loan out in Jan - whether we paid for them or not
Then those that are left have to dig in with whatever quality we can get on loan or other and play us out of this mire
L1 status is imperative or the last 4 years will have been for nothing
I 100% agree that we've missed a golden opportunity to kick on and the start of the rot was the day Snake left - we've shown no ambition to replicate hitting 6th in L1 which is where we were approx 2 years ago since - and I squarely blame the owners
Can't see Wael parading up Glos Rd badge kissing any time soon - he inherited something great and has slowly eroded it
And now we stare at the abyss
i only trust DC to do this - with help - and serious backing from the board

The right team playing in the right positions could do it
But I'm not sure the right team is always on and when it's not - that team doesn't appear to want to
Stable 11 for three matches must be the way forward

There was more booing at half time than full time
The first half was one of the most uninspired passages of football I've seen at the mem
Second half Payne seemed (finally) that he was up for it
He jumped a couple times which we haven't seen yet to any great extent
Sercs in the middle seemed to be back to his best and to my mind should play middle every week
Matthews showed some skill and delivery flair
Sercs, Matthews, Bennett all tried to impact
The last 20 mins was the way we need to play, with those players for 90 mins
Do that for next ten matches we don't have a problem , luck will be created with creativity on the pitch

Why take our best midfielder off and replace with Payne,why bring Lockyer on when he’s just played 90 mins in Albania when we’re lose #losttheplot He brought Locks on in a vain attempt to convince the board he's gone fuckwit and hoping they'll sack him hes got a bit of pedigree still - he could get a job somewhere - he's done three promotions, , many managers never achieve one ! he's sick of the lack of investment and lack of support I'd imagine yes he's been poor overall with transfers but £ spent doesn't equate to the £ made selling so I'd want the sack if I was him as for this team - they deserved the pelting at the final whistle failing to lock down a 1-0 over a conf side in a replay - really? Ffs i stood at the tunnel at the end to look at the players and DC payne seemed unconcerned DC looked a worn and battered man |

But I think the owners are too busy trying to offload us to actually worry about the state of the league
All Waels posturing and badge kissing seems a long way off now ........
