All over the country today at a variety of sporting events announcements were made that on the sound of the referees whistle a minutes silence would be held in honour of those who gave their lives for their country. The same thing happened at ashton gate, well not quite, after a few seconds they all started clapping. If this wasn't so sad it would be funny but I'm struggling to laugh to be honest. Twerton 3-0 over the sh@t 1990 - best ever number one never to be repeated ( perfect follow up at Blackpool three days later as well )
Grimsby at Wembley - my sons first ever Rovers match , not a classic game but it meant so much to regain league status and 40000 on the M4 - not bad
Daggers At the mem - Bodins equaliser took my breath away then Browner nailed the coffin - will never forget that day to clinch promotion at home in the 92nd minute of the last game of the season - and closing Gloucester Road in the aftermath

Think we will always attract enough support - we are more dangerous than the 82ers , not everyone wants a cosy franchise swathed in a sense of entitlement of sleeping giant mentality because once they made the first division

Rather be forever in a shadow than forever paranoid - end of 16/17 season when they were flirting with relegation and we were only 7 league places apart - absolutely sh** themselves

Everyone was raving about Payne after the first game and now he's a terrible buy. Couldn't make it up What you cannot make up, after being substituted at Luton, he stormed down the touch line and sat on his own next to the penalty box. As far as I am concerned, he has got a massive attitude, he is over weight, cannot lose his marker, is *** at picking up when defending, the sooner he is gone the better. O ye he does not score goals, whats to like ? And he can't / don't / won't jump and as he's kinda the Ellis replacement it's double damning because that boy is all salmon |

Oddly enough we've enjoyed reasonable success in past few years (this season excluded) but not many from the current era featuring
Any team with Jason Roberts in it for me , ,!
And Walters was different class even in his twilight

I'm in two minds whether to go tonight. I won't finish work til 7pm at the earliest and then it'll be a mad dash across Filton to get there for kick off. Plus, I've only got my work shirt with me so I'll probably freeze. Then there's the small matter of not having seen them win this season and thinking that if I give it a miss tonight then maybe they might win again. I'm trying hard not to believe that I'm a jinx this season. And the thought of standing next to some squeaky voiced adolescent in the Blackthorn again, like I did on Saturday, doesn't do it for me. He's none of those and I'm not surprised he's not comfortable with interviews at this point given his main responsibility is getting professional footballers to kick a ball into a net
He's stated he's not giving up on Nichols so he's currently the last in a very short queue with that mindset

Not sure quite why Tony Craig did what he did but was a perfect clothes-line to the throat of Mackie from what I saw
Took the yellow for the team - possibly was tasked with roughing him up as the guy was a fruitcake with a clearly suspect character
I picked Bonham for MoM not because he was so amazing but more because no one else was worthy
Like two seasons ago if no one was worthy give it to Sincs
