Good write up
Not thrilled that Bodins mis-firing I had high hopes for him after the fantastic finish he had last season, 13 goals wasn't it? And that amazing equaliser may 7th
I've always liked Leadbitter, I always thought last season we were a better team with him on the pitch, his touch has deserted him a little and ne needs matches to gain the confidence to step up at this level
Glad Darrell is sticking with these players and showing some faith and patience with them . They will all get a chance , the squad is big and Darrell clearly relishes picking from such a talented bunch

Good write up
Bodins not where he should be which is a shame as I thought he'd do well in this League after his immense contribution last season
Great to see Gaffney galloping at em again
This season could evolve into something very special I believe
I can't keep knocking the tinkering, it's here to stay

Dunno about the answers to your questions but a clean sheet wouldn't go amiss at present
I called this game on the way up
I knew we'd ship one , battle like chuff and pull a point or a win
The squad rested and rotated is probably right but the tinkering with defence is driving me mad

I hope JJOT goes to bed tonight thinking "Did I make the right decision back then?". WYHHB He had a chant all to himself At 2-1 and 3-2 the rovers asked him jonjo what's the score, jonjo jonjo what's the score

Gaffneys performance was great today, topped off by a long overdue goal, I'm pleased for him. He should have had another instead of passing across to Taylor at the death
Bodins not at the races , I'm a massive Bodin fan but hes not sharp enough at present
Young Chelsea loans look to be excellent prospects and should prove vital in the run up to xmas
7th place 1st oct
Never saw that coming
Just need to stop shipping sloppy goals then chasing the game for an hour
D. c has to find his best defence and give them a chance to play together for more than an hour at a time
I don't want to seem churlish but I was at Sheffield and today's game and I don't see anything in these "top" sides to worry about, we have the squad to take this division on I'm convinced of it
But we need to solidify a core back line because we will meet a stubborn side (Stevenage last season ?) we won't crack , it happens and every point is vital

One thing that really made me smile today was when they were playing the Monkees song, Daydream Believer, over the tannoy at the start of the game. The sound went down for the chorus and the announcer shouted for everyone to join in. Now, I don't know what the Northampton fans were singing cos they were completely drowned out by almost 1,000 gasheads chipping in with a rendition of "Cheer up Lee Johnson". F*cking quality :-) Quality banter today the "good referee" one was a belter 😆 After their defender was sent off by the clearly superior replacement ref

Our fans were louder, I've just got back in with a Chinese, beer and a sore throat
Ntfc were nothing to worry about, shame we are asleep for the first 20mins of every bloody game we play
About time DC stopped dicking about with the back four and gave em a chance to settle in with each other
Gaffney looked great today, have no idea why he wasn't starting against Sheffield over Easter

Looking at those highlights, Ellis was involved in a lot of our most dangerous moments. That ball through to Easter is a peach. He has so much ability and if he really gets his head down he could be a complete number 9, modelling himself on someone like a Drogba or a Shearer. No, I'm not saying he'll be quite as good as them but he could be a real handful, for sure as he has the power in his game. He's supposed to be involved in our dangerous moments, he's a striker he needs to be more composed and clinical , but for sure he has a lot to offer , this league is absolute max tho I'd say

A fair summation although I'd disagree about Easter, I think his workrate wasn't as good as it could have been and certainly below that we would and have come to expect from Gaffney
A night Taylor, if fit, I believe would have done some serious damage
Our end was magnificent and quite how 18000 blades can put up with a mere 900 gas filling the place with noise without response, I'm not too sure

Thanks - we love our stadium too, think its a 'proper' traditional ground that has been modernised well. Something special when its full and full voice. The noise levels are slowly but surely creeping up now, but I'm sure we can be forgiven given our recent struggles - we are still recovering from the last two seasons and the dross served up. However, with Wilder we are beginning to see a team we can identify with - fingers crossed it continues. Meet you in the play-offs?! Dont say those words, I would rather finish 7th than have to go through them!! We have basically got an entire new squad and we are slowly getting things together, I'm optimistic that as the season goes we will get even stronger and the top 2 will be within our grasps. I don't think we're embarrassed by being in League 1, we've had enough time to come to terms with it, we frustrated more than anything. You will Love our stadium if you like traditional ! Last night I thought.... hmmm they will wet themselves when they come to the mem

How do. As the name suggests I'm a Sheffield United fan, was at the game last night and thought I'd stick my beak in on here. First off, and in no way is to massage egos etc, but your support did you proud last night - travelled in remarkable numbers given the scheduling and were loud throughout. Very rare we see support like that these days, even on Saturdays. Although I haven't seen him play, and don't know his strengths/weaknesses, I was happy to see Matt Taylor's name missing from the team sheet - because what I do know is that he scores goals. I thought the first half was very even, Rovers got the ball into wide positions and put the ball in the 'mixer' as quickly as possible. We played some decent, patient and probing stuff - however lacked that little bit of pace to get in advanced positions more frequently. Second half, much of the same, but we got a quality goal at a good time and then the red card, which should have meant we saw out the rest of the game on the front foot.
I felt we made things very difficult for ourselves in the last 20 minutes by not going all out for that killer goal. However, I can understand our players mentality - on a decent run, desperate to extend it, and although the atmosphere at the Lane is much improved, you sense the players are still a bit wary of what a late equaliser might have done. The red card - nailed on, I was sat on the stand closest to it and bang in line, what your guy was thinking I don't know. The very definition of a dangerous and reckless challenge. I'd be seething if I was your manager - you were only 1-0 down and very much in the game. You are a big strong side who knock the ball about very well, like to get the ball in the box very early. Your clearly going to be one of the better teams in the division based on that performance. Do you usually play 3-5-2 or did you use that setup thinking we were going to continue with that formation? Injuries/suspensions meant we had to revert to 4-4-2 which doesn't suit our midfielders as much. Overall a decent game, Im hoping we can push for top two and I suspect you lot should be pushing for top 6. Best of luck. Visiting blade, Loved your stadium, I get the feeling there is a psyche of embarrassment about being in L1 and playing the like of rovers youve called the game spot on and saw the same match as me I think you'll do well, better if your mighty crowd got behind your team at home..... i think we may meet in the playoffs.....

I was at the match
Easter missed a sitter, his work rate wasn't great and I think he's better in the pocket than purely up front, say no more about the sending off .....
I think we very tellingly missed Matty last night, some of the chances that went begging, I'm sure his clinical touch would have seen the back of the net
Overall a good performance , the double substitution caught us on the hop IMO, the goal went in straight after those. A great shame, at least a point went begging for sure
On another day with the ball falling right we would or to be fair could have won it
Gaffney back sat please- maybe Hobson's choice?
Ps rovers fans MADE the atmosphere, not much coming back , 900 on a Tuesday in Yorkshire....makes the gurners on Otib a laughing stock

Ok someone has to vocalise the dream. You all know what I am talking about... If we could get three in a row, would that be a record? Has any team done 3? Would we lose Clarke, think so. I don't think any English league side has had 3 consecutive promotions so it would be a record, but one we are capable of breaking. As for Clarke I think he will stay as long as the club match his ambition. I can think a team that has had three consecutive relegations .....

Jeez yet again with the knicker twisting. Rovers haven't designed a drainpipe which can withstand a football being drilled against it at 80 miles per hour. Woe is me! I demand Wael thrash himself with a branch in the centre circle at the next home game! I am not knicker twisting about the drainpipe too much am I but those that thought it funny when it could have caused injury to a young boy (but fair enough for apologising) but more at the poster above who basically accused me of inventing a story because it happened on the Vale side of the stand. Obviously the concept of having relatives from different parts of the country is a bit of a challenge for some people. Can I just say now my cousins live in Coventry and are Cov fans and they will be down on Boxing Day in case any part of the Mem hits them I reserve the right to refer to this post when explaining it
