Can't quite recall the timeline of it all but after the collapse of the OF regime I think I came across the other one first as well - it was already the AF (I think) because it used to occasionally get referenced on the OF as some kind of punishment for those who sullied the clubs good name. I can't remember if I ever posted a single time on the other forum because if people mentioned something crazy like attending Rovers matches they just got shouted out for not hating/loving/fancying Higgs/Bradshaw/Kevin Spencer/Geoff Dunford/Captain Black Arab enough. Wasn't lucky enough to be personally invited to join this forum but it was much closer to the tone of the old OF without the absurd censorship, and most of the posters I liked best were on here. Probably in the end it would've been a google search I suppose, think I noticed it as the result underneath the AF or whatever. I'm here all week.

Sean, that is harsh Bloke was a striker with an eye for the goal, either played on the wing or dropped as soon as he had a good game. Did he ever have a good game then? He was played out of position because he didn't do enough to warrant a start in his "preferred" position. He was one of the poorest players I've ever seen. Absolutely no way. He could have been an unbelievable asset if we'd managed him in any half-decent way. Remember he came on once at home with a couple of minutes to go, every touch was inspired and set up the equaliser. Knew the impact he'd had and he walked off the pitch straight away at the final whistle, I'm sure he couldn't comprehend how he wasn't being started up front in such a poor side. His technical ability and footballing brain was the best in the squad by an absolute mile.

It means behave like an adult and show a bit of decorum like the better part of 1500 other posters manage to do. You quite clearly aren't unintelligent by any means so act like it and further action won't be needed.

Has to be out, and I think the best argument is simply that the EU is almost laughably undemocratic. I certainly never voted for Merkel or Sarkozy, and millions (including myself) have never had the opportunity to vote on Europe at all. Ultimately the scare-mongres shouting the odds on this issue are those voting in, and for me that's almost as good a reason as any to vote out.

Mildy 7 - pretty good game in pretty sh*t conditions
Leadbitter 7.5 - worked really hard and probably our biggest threat going forward, involved in both goals. James Clarke 4.5 - almost the whole team was dreadful right up til half time so it was what it was for him really. Lockyer 7 - great to see him as captain, solid game and one of the few who wasn't a complete disaster first half. Parkes 6 - did okay in the end, poor decision for the penalty. Brown 6.5 - pretty average really, important cross for the winner.
Sinclair 6 - better off the ball. Superb work ethic, energy, and professionalism as ever. Lines 6.5 - actually thought he had a good second half, one of the best players on the ball for either team. So frustrating he just won't shoot anymore though. Lawrence 5 - decent second half as well. He's a lairy bastard though and share the concerns about him and Lines in the same team.
Taylor 3 - barely did anything of note. Not good enough again. Gaffney 6.5 - one of our hardest workers. Decent game without being spectacular and a calm finish for the goal.
Bobyn 7 - much better when he came on, changed the game around and got the winner.
Ref 5 Crowd 8 DC 8 Morecambe 5

Sorry but how on Earth can you attempt to claim that "the only club in for him was Hartlepool" is an opinion?! I'm more inclined to agree with your general point than GGMI's but you're going to struggle with that one!

My favourite part of this story is that you can barely see the stadium at all in the photo. Bizarre.

With Bolton, Charlton Rotherham MK Dons and Bolton all as bad as them, £80,000 to £100,000 a week spent on loans will keep them up. Sorry to say. But who will go down? Bolton or Bolton?

It's just an attempt at justifying why they're so far behind us when they won the league and we finished second last year. It's all just media talk anyway, who knows what he really thinks.

Good luck Oskar. A very brave and determined young man. Does make me wonder if he would have been so well received if he wore Blue & White on the other side of the river though? Not really relevant is it. He isn't blue and white, our fans have been great, just take it as the positive that it is. Regardless, at least 95% (probably more) of both fanbases are decent people who understand that a child suffering a serious illness transcends football rivalry. Thank God.

I think there is too much expected of Ellis who is, after all, only 21. There is no doubt in my mind he is not yet a 90 minute player but is best used as an impact player coming off the bench when needed. With the right application and help he could well mature into a very good striker. In fairness to DC he saw Ellis as a striker where others before DC saw him as a winger. Everyone should remember it took time and effort before Roberts and Ellington blossomed. Wasn't it Ward how made that decision? Seem to recall Ellis has always claimed he is a forward and disliked having to play on the wing. Perhaps Ward was the first to accept this and play him in his chosen position, can't remember to that degree of accuracy!

Very very sad news. The man was a legend and regardless of whether you like his music or not he has had a monumental effect on British culture. Chances are even people who don't like him will be fans of artists who themselves were inspired by Bowie. May he Rest In Peace.

He seems to be the sort of bloke who would rather get a game every week. I was just going to say the same. Even if, as seems likely, Bournemouth are relegated, they'll have squillions in parachute payments from the Prem to invest in players and poor Tom could look forward to a season in the reserves. On a much bigger pay packet,of course. It's such a difficult one though, and fans aren't always very good at looking at in a realistic way. That much bigger pay packet can be so important; ultimately if Tom stays here for his whole career it's almost certain that he'll have to get at least one more job before retirement, with what I imagine is very few qualifications and no real-life work experience. With the blue-tinted specs off for just a minute I can completely understand why a player might trade playing in front of 9000 to playing in front of 200 for Bournemouth Reserves in return for two or three times the money and future security.

And yet I would argue that Gaffa's hair is a more aggressive shade of ginger that Matty's. Is this something that we as a fanbase are comfortable encouraging?

Yes I'm sure referees have to declare any conflict of interest, though of course there's little or no way of regulating this in practicality.

Mildenhall 7 - solid display, if you had no background to our goalkeeping situation you would have simply seen a competent and experienced league two keeper.
Leadbitter 7 - defenders don't fancy him at all, dangerous going forward Clarke 6.5 - didn't really notice him. Kept a clean sheet(!). Lockyer 8 - just solid and the model of calm. Future captain. Parkes 6.5 - did fine. Still overplays at times. Brown 7 - typical performance. Mr 7 out of 10.
Mansell 8 - I'm a big fan of Lee. Controlled the middle without the need for flamboyancy and you can see his leadership and experience. Clarke 7.5 - good game from Ollie. There is something there but God knows how we try and help him replicate it on a regular basis. Sinclair 7 - ticked away, never stops. Unlucky not to score in the first half if I recall correctly.
Taylor 6.5 - not his finest hour but did okay. Our most quality on the ball at times. Gaffney 9 MOM - superb. Get him signed. Won me a fiver as first scorer as well!
Easter and Harrison not on long enough.
DC 10 - comfortable home win, clean sheet, and no subs needed. Genuinely can't ask for any more. Luton 4 - didn't think they had a lot. Remember CMS being unplayable here a few years back but very quiet yesterday. Ref 6 - not an awful lot to do. Clearly didn't have any intention of giving out any reds but that's not necessarily a hanging offence.
Overall a hugely enjoyable home performance and win. UTG

Seen some posts from C*ty fans today starting with "the Rovers or C*ty fan who did this..." Absolutely beggars belief. I don't know which is more worrying, that they genuinely believe that there's only a 50% chance it's one of theirs, or that they know full well and are trying to wriggle out of any responsibility.
