Said we won't be near the big spenders in this league. Contradicts his top-6 budget comment doesn't it?

Love DC and this club but... every year were caught out by the fact that players, clubs and agents are greedy bstrds who want as much from us as humanly possible. I guess we're the only club prepared to let our talent go cheap. (hopefully this recurring theme ends with these owners).

He's talking about young loan signings again - really not a supporter of this approach. Why should we develop other clubs talent and see them walk out the door after a year? Surely the focus has now got to be on finding and developing our own through the under 21's. Parent clubs of loanees will want their players getting game time - one of the reasons I suggest that Roberts, Colkett and Boateng all left early.
To challenge near the top end of this division will need a team of predominantly seasoned pros with at least two or three years of 'hard' league experience.

All the Gas trying to tell DC how to run the show - give it a break & let him do what he does very well!

Comes across as relaxed but the usual little swipe as regards people becoming nervous at the lack of signings but I'm sorry Darrell but your 10 or eleven players has now become 7 or 8 by 31st August and that is with losing one (Hartley). Hardly an inspiring interview to sell season tickets or expectations and IMO not exactly exciting and certainly nothing to be excited about ala Mr Hamers interview as regards Darrell's list!

A lot of premier clubs will pay lower league clubs to "take" their youngsters on loan, maybe a good way to get some much needed income

Everyone loves DC but signing league winning players is not his or Rovers' forte!

Glad to at last hear something and there were some interesting points.
1. Forget 10 / 11 new players likely to be 7/8 with a good number of loans. 2. He wants four keepers ... two u21s and two Senior Pros. 3. They have 14 on trial this week of which 4 are young keepers. 4. We will not match the big spenders in this League ( Blackburn, Rotherham, Wigan and also mentioned were Plymouth, Portsmouth , Doncaster ) 5. DC was in Poland and watched some u21 games and saw opportunity to potentially looking at some non English lads. 6. Thinks that attitude of new players is paramount and has been surprised at the price tags and wages demands this pre season window. 7. Wants and expects to build on last year. 8. Is holding funds back for January window. 9. Liam Sercombe has fitted straight in with the squad. 10. A good number of the pre season games will be U21 players but please go along and support the local clubs night.
I need to watch again but now thinking we will sign four of our own and loan in three, think it could be a very tough season for us and consolidation would be a good result. More optimism hopefully when i see the new faces. Vital though that we bring in decent quality.

All the Gas trying to tell DC how to run the show - give it a break & let him do what he does very well! You're not naive enough to think he takes any notice of what anyone on here has to say are you? Chill out iit's people's opinions which at the end of the day count for the sum of zilch. It would be pretty boring if everyone thought the same - and agreed with everything he did or said - it's a forum ffs.
