The Blackpool manager has done really well and very underrated. Here is a Fleetwood fan of all people praising them; "While some may not be aware, the off-field situation at the club has been truely mind blowing. The team itself is comprised of free's and loan players that most other clubs did not want. The pitch is something of a joke considering this is a recent prem club. The training facilty consists of a field with 2 pitches, one of which is usually waterlogged, this years improvements to it consisted of x1 porto-loo. The fans stay away in their droves so the home game atmosphere is nil. Yet despite all the above they have been competing at a good level. Not sure any other club could match this" Hes done a great job at blackpool. In his interviews he always comes across as being an intelligent and understated person.

When DC took over he was dropped I the sh** but he managed to get us back to back promotions from the lower leagues and this is where is expertise and knowledge lies, but I am sure he does not have the knowledge and experience to take us any further So thank you DC for that but it is now time for us to move forward with a more experienced manager at the helm, DC,s best bet for the future would be to step up to a championship club as a number 2 and get the experience that way I do understand your point, although would have to disagree. DC had no "knowledge or experience" as a manager or coach at League 2, League 1, or even at the upper levels of the Conference where the pressure was really on for an instant return, yet he dealt with all of those challenges admirably. So why is his lack of experience at a higher level a problem? Ultimately, he (or any manager for that matter) does need investment, which then of course has to be used well. It's very rare for a club to get into and sustain football at a higher level without this. We are in no position to provide him with that, unfortunately. So perhaps it's not so much a case of him being unable to take us any further, but more about us being unable to take him any further.

It's that attitude that sees the merry go round of managers like Allardyce, Hughes, Pulis, Pardew and the likes of etc, etc that stifles up-coming managers.
That's not their fault, but the money in the game and clubs going for what are considered 'safe' options
the majority of managers have failed somewhere at some point, what makes or guarantees that an experienced Championship manager that will do a job for us?

DC’s experience of this league over 2 years with our club is surely worth more than anything another manager can offer at this stage?
If there was a bad atmosphere amongst the players, or signs that the team are in terminal decline, then fine, make a change.
But to tread water in this league for two years following successive promotions is actually very commendable, especially against a backdrop of losing our two main match winners for peanuts and not having the funds to replace them at market value.
Also there are clear signs of younger players progressing through the development squad to supplement the first team players we have.
Obviously, he’s doing a great job! I respect all opinions but don’t really understand why anyone would even contemplate making a change.

I totally agree with the above, DC has worked miracles and if it ain't broke why try to fix it? I just hope that DC doesnt read this forum as some of the stuff said about him is damn right embarrassing!

If the dream involved swarfega and sticks of celery, I'd be alarmed. What sort of sick mind can even think of that?

To be fair, the original question was a hypothetical one and I don't think anyone would suggest for a minute that a change should be made (well, one person would bit he/she has had an agenda for ages). DC is one of the most popular managers in our recent history. I don't see him leaving just yet (I certainly hope not anyway...the man is an absolute legend and has does wonders for us), but we are naive if we don't think that one of the best managers outside the Premier League won't have ambition that we probably (sadly) can't match. This thread only addresses the 'what if he did go' question. Let's hope he sticks with us because he's the best.
