Is there any proof anywhere that finance is an issue? If it wasn't an issue I doubt we'd be discussing a new tent stand, by now we'd probably be mulling over initial plans for a new stadium or re-development. It sounds like we already are as we have had consultations with local residents about the mem and have already mulled over plans for a new stadium at UWE only to turn it down. Even if it was announced tomorrow that we had architects plans to redevelop the mem, we would still want to keep the tents so that we could maximise revenue at the mem over the next couple of years.

I've not heard about consultations taking place with local residents about redeveloping the Mem. In which case perhaps progress has been made and I spoke too soon. Was there an update on the BRFC website?

It at least gives me a little confidence of the owners intentions.

That was 8 months ago and there's been total silence since with the owners have now moved to spending money on the Mem for really the first time since they bought the club.

Yeah but maybe total silence is a good thing as it could mean things are getting done behind the scenes. I take Wael stepping down from the Jordanian FA to focus on Rovers as a good omen.

The money spent on the Mem is a cost that will be recouped within a year. It's a red herring to believe that the expenditure on the Mem means anything either way.

Wael has done more to take us forward and spent more money in his short time with the club than members of the old board did in 25+ years at the helm. Give our supreme leader a break.

There is a difference between obtaining money to build something and return on investment though

It maybe but it hardly gives you hope we'll be announcing anything soon about a new stadium, the silence on the training ground plans just add to those concerns. As far as the costs being recouped in a year is that something which has become fact because somebody posted it on the forum, as without knowing the costs I can't see how anybody can state that is really the case.

I gather you don't go to the Mem then? pitch, west stand executive area, pitchside screen, two covered areas etc: all while still negotiating with UWE, now that is off the agenda (for now?) - more being spent on the Mem including another pitch revamp

Some people have very short (even none) memories. We were homeless and renting Twerton Park until Mr Dunford's board of Directors brought the Rovers back to Bristol at the Mem with a 50% share in it's ownership, then latterly 100% full ownership. That was if I recall correctly with a £5m mortgage. Valued today at £10-15m?
In the Dunfords I trusted and eternally grateful, In Al Qadi I trust.
There appears to be IMO only two differences between the old and new board. The old board were Bristolians and Gasheads with a little money. The new board is a non Bristolian football fanatic with a newly acquired gashead affinity with a bit more money. There are many non Bristolian gasheads attending matchs and writing on this forum. Good night I will see you min my dreams.

Not BOTHERED just saying I can't see how the costs of two stands, the bar refurb inc air con and moving the club shop, plus the new turnstiles, will be recouped in one season, it clearly needs doing as we won't be moving for 5/10 years as I've suggested before.
