I did, you’re just selective with your posts and statistics. Tony Craig would prove his worth and play at Centre Half with someone alongside him. But since garner left he has been played all over the shop hence his drop in form. Tisdale played him at RB, RWB, Centre half. Some of us have children older than Max, the guy is 28 and gives his all for gods sake. A 28 yr old footballer should be in the prime of his game he's not a child when it comes to be being a footballer, as far as giving his all, I doubt many other posters would agree with that comment. You sense now there's a very good reason why Gillingham claimed they couldn't afford to offer him a new contract last summer.

Let’s be honest we’re never gonna be in the market for a proven league 1 goalscorer, probably not even league 2, these players go for serious money and we just can’t compete. I’d say a player like Hanlan is about the best we could hope for other than taking a punt on a non league player or one not wanted elsewhere. Goalscorers are the hardest thing to find and a good one makes the difference between a poor league 1 team or a decent one. Having the leagues best striker in JCH turned us from relegation candidates to a top half team. How many strikers have we signed in the last 20 years and how many have actually turned out to be any good? Piggott was publicly advertised for less than £500k....? Now he'll almost certainly go for a free, especially if Wombles are relegated. How many times in our history have we spent anything close to £500k??

How many times in our history have we spent anything close to £500k?? Anything close? £350 for TN? Was that money well spent? Anyways, from your ally carlts, Piggott was allegedly available for£250k but blocked by our bad boys of the moment, Starnes & Widders..... although this hasn't been verified, and no reasoning given. The point is, JCH was sold for good money and very little of it was spent in replacing, let alone a credible replacement. BG made a mistake. We started the season woefully short of firepower, we all knew it would be 2 games a week and 2 untried strikers and 1 whom had only scored a handful wasn't ever going to be enough.
