I think what we've seen is the difference between BG being a first team coach under a director of football structure with TW sourcing and recruiting players then saying to BG go and coach that lot and then BG being appointed as a manager, recruiting his own, having more senior players and having more control. Night and day. Garner is head coach and working under a director of football structure at Swindon. The myth of not having senior players here is also still being perpetuated, despite the fact we had the likes of Jaakola, Baldwin, Ehmer, Nicholson, Rodman, Upson, Ogogo, Oztumer and others to pick from. Not a very impressive list of players is it, injured, a let down, or not really established senior players. They are all one or the other. Whatever BG is at Swindon, he clearly has more influence and control www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ben-garner-responds-joey-bartons-6005607Hands up, I knocked him, but after he left and before his appointment at Swindon, his remit and mandate he was under at Rovers seems to have been a large factor in the club not doing well and I admit I got BG wrong, a much larger factor lies elsewhere in the club and with people who still hold position in the club. If BG had enjoyed the control Barton now has, I would have been interested to have seen that unfold.

Something is rotten near the top I believe. What does starnes actually do?

I’m not so sure Starnes would have a massive impact on steering the football side of things, on the other hand our ex DoF is still here…
