We could offer to groundshare with a clause in the contract that gives us the ground for a hundred quid if they go bust :-) £82 £19.82p

Say a younger chairman comes along with more money can they actually spend any of it with the current debt levels and FFP rules?
Monies clearly not an issue for SL even if he may be fed up of wasting it! But let’s face it 38 mil is still small talk for someone as wealthy as him.
Comes across as he’s give it a good go by chucking money at it and the clubs screwed by the FFP regardless of how much one person can chuck at it personally.

It’s a big deal really. I think everyone expected Steve to leave this as a legacy, with his family continuing it as he retired. He’s talking about being tired of it all.
It mentioned nothing about the Rugby.
Dare I dream, but isn’t there a chance here city could become tennants in AG. Imagine leapfrogging them and next year them losing their lair and us announcing a new stadium.
You have to dream. Can you imagine how watered off their psycho battery would be?

Personally I'd be gutted if pantsdown walked away. He's done a great job of employing managers not good enough to take them up to the prem, hopefully that's going to catch up with them this year and they go down🤞

Not really surprised, our neighbours come across as somewhat ungrateful to their benefactor. He is not stupid and is not going to throw unlimited funds at chasing the end of the rainbow, if he does sell and if new owners have unlimited funds they may well do just that and they may well sell there soul to the devil, of course we don't want to be in that situation do we? I must admit i was concerned we would do just that when Wael moved in, we need not have worried, he has respected the club and it's traditions, to the annoyance of some, but better that way than sell our soul ,IMHO, now about that new ground Wael!

Would LOVE to watch the bears at the Fruit Market Can get rid of the red in thier kit as a first step 😍 In this ridiculously hypothetical scenario I would prefer the Bears to buy the Mem off us and play there. Also to grow up and stop calling themselves the Bears.. what is wrong with the Shoguns FFS? Make them play as Bristol Teds.

Your forgetting the £45 million he spent to redevelop their ground. That’s an asset though, the sale of the club will see him recoup that fee and some again I would imagine. It’s wages wasted on talentless players and awful policies like relying on a player sales to break even that’s screwed them. They must be kicking themselves though because in recent seasons they have managed to sale some players for a very decent fee, if they hadn’t of wasted it on high wages for rubbish players those fees could of covered the stadium cost.

Let’s say you’re a billionaire and looking at a Championship club to take over.
On the one side you’ve got Burnley, West Brom, Sunderland, Hull, Sheff Utd, QPR, Stoke, West Brom, Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Huddersfield & Norwich all with a better chance of getting to the Prem faster.
With them all you’d also be getting the land/stadium and businesses that are much better run. Didn’t City lose ~£39m last season and are facing a points deduction this season?
Landsmen wouldn’t sell them cheap I’m sure, let’s randomly guess £100m. Then you’ve got a £40m plug to fill per year, then you’ve got to actually spend a fortune to make them competitive - all in the hope that you can compete with the teams mentioned above.
Makes you wonder whether they’re even that attractive as an investment?

Everyone's assuming they wil be worse off after Lansdown leaving. I mean there's a good chance they will be but someone might also see it as an opportunity to tap into the potential of a big city like Bristol having a premier league club. £38mil debt is nothing when they have the likes of Alex Scott, Semenyo etc who could offset it.

It's not only the present debt but also buying out Lansdown and then meeting the annual debts, if a billionaire City fan can't afford it then who can? It sounds like Lansdown has been looking for investors for a couple of years and hasn't found any so far. Not sure Bristol will ever be that attractive as we have no real history of being a football city.

It could go either way, hopefully downwards, but could also give them a boost. One thing about Lansdown's tenure in recent years seems to be his acceptance of City treading water in the Championship.
Mind you, didn't he say something similar a fair few years ago when he and Johnson Jr were getting flack? Maybe just a timely reminder of 'better the devil you know.'
