Every club will have the odd idiot who tries to pull a fast one. Be honest, who at the age of 17 didn't try and get a 16 or under ticket for entry to somewhere at some point in their lives. From what I see there are less turnstile operators who are only there in case there is an issue. Not sure they can be expected to keep an eye on 2 turnstiles at once and be policing ages of ticket holders. Unless the club/ticketmaster guarantee tickets working duplicates will always be an issue. Have they not got the technology to flag a ticket already being scanned. During the teething issues it was clear that a quick look at a ticket was good enough for admission. I hope that for this to be policed the tech is now up to scratch and turnstile operators can refuse you entry and send failed ticket holders off to a supervisor or ticket office But the club also mentions season ticket holders ( unless I misread it ) and that's an additional concern.

I feel like the problem with ST’s is that the club aren’t happy with them being given to a family member/friend when you can’t make a game (which is my opinion is fine, I’ve paid for the whole season so should be able to give it to whoever I like provided they fit the age bracket) and would rather supporters use the ticket exchange instead.
40 year old blokes using U16 tickets to get into the ground is bad though.
Don’t even get me started on the stewarding in the Thatchers End this season.

I guess it’s a bit like self service tills in a supermarket, you’re always going to get some dishonest people who don’t zap an item or two . You save on the wages though , just like doing away with turnstile operators. The supermarkets factor in that loss compared to the savings on wages. Some people will always be dishonest if they think there’s little chance they will be caught.
Next step will be facial recognition every time we enter the ground !

I thought that once you had scanned an e-ticket it was spent at that point. If several people can use the same e-ticket surely that's a fault with the technology that should have an easy fix

I agree that if you have a season ticket but can't get to a game that it is OK to pass the ticket onto someone else. But where I sit there are three fans that only seem to have two seats and land up searching around for a third seat. One of them sat in my seat and I told him I am a season ticket holder and showed him my season ticket,he said he was as well but the two e tickets he had were for other seats, one was where his Dad was sat.Every week they land up trying to sit in other people's seats, which is odd, it appears that there are three of them but they only have two tickets. That means every home game the club miss out on around 26.00 as one gets to sit in a, seat they haven't paid for.

Why don't you mention it to TG if you know the seat numbers? If the e-ticket system is open to abuse does that mean I a supporter can sell their ticket but still get into a game with my season ticket card?

I don't know but from TG statement it is clear there are a significant number of fans getting into the ground on the cheap, which is unfair on everyone else. Hopefully it will now stop.

That's like saying you hope train fare dodgers will stop, it'll only stop if the club puts proper controls in place if they don't then the dodgy members of our fan base will carry on abusing the system, perhaps the club should publish a list of shame so we can all see who they are and they may act as a deterrent?

Obviously i am sure the club would prefer people to use the ticket exchange now, but unless there is demand and sell outs every week not necessarily practical or beneficial for someone stood on the terraces. Honestly, i dont think many people would complain about lending your ST for a game to a mate if you cant make it The problem is there are people actively ripping the club off ('fans' and/or staff) something rotten and taking the water and when that happens you have to spell out the rules to everyone, even if its just lending a ticket to someone

Not sure it will for this set of fans as they'll just get their mates to buy their tickets in future? If there's no check on fans ID's then how will the club enforce any ban?

In the club statement the club have said they are increasing security and doing checks , that costs money and suggest to me that the club is loosing some decent income through this.

The club equally abuse the fans, my eldest who is 13 wants to come tomorrow, I’ve tried buying him a ticket on my account but it won’t let me, paying seven pounds extra for a older ticket did. Double standards by the club again, not the first time I’ve done that this season.

Amazing isn’t it ? Our own supporters quite happy to rip off the club they claim to support 🙄 Although I think a season ban is ample punishment I’d argue the club is quite happy to rip off its supporters to be honest.

Lots of faux outrage on this thread! There is a cost of living crisis and I would wager some of those getting in on cheaper tickets are doing so as otherwise they wouldn’t be able to afford to attend. Better they buy something rather than not attending and paying nothing!
