The cards turn the scanner blue if a concession and Green for an adult. so from that perspective if I tried getting in with a concession that would be obvious. More obvious than someone taking a paper ticket and ripping off the stub without checking Don't know if the e-tickets work the same

Secondly : do what Gloucestershire cricket do. All ST holders must have a photo on S.T cards. Lastly the club needs to stop multiple use on e tickets by blocking repeats. Three easy steps..

Amazing isn’t it ? Our own supporters quite happy to rip off the club they claim to support 🙄
Although I think a season ban is ample punishment

That's why Glou cricket insist on a photo sent and researched as part of ST acceptance.

We had people abuse paper tickets before. Maybe photo is a way forward but 1)bit sad if we have to go that route 2) whatever method still relies on someone actually checking

I agree with the clubs stance on this why anyone would want to rip off the club il never know. What I do disagree with is the not allowing other people to use my season ticket if I can't make the game.
In total there are 5 matches I can't make this season where I give my season ticket to another family member to use who otherwise would not go to that match. Club arnt losing any money in fact their gaining a bit on concession purchases. I'm the one losing out by not selling it on the ticket exchange. I don't see any harm in this.

I agree about letting somebody else use your ticket, as long as they are in the right category for the ticked, I can't see why it's a problem.

I suppose it all depends on the level of abuse?. Two ways to prevent abuse is simple . All ST's must have a photo identity and match address / age very simple Glou cricket work it to perfection. Nobody would abuse it because they warn they will ban. Secondly the club needs to block multiple use on e tickets via the system used on scanning. It's worrying you can use repeats without a blocking mechanism. Lastly game by game ticketing is harder. But the club should have the right to monitor and question someone if the colouring coding Is in question. The fact the club have released this statement and it will go to national press suggest there are issues.

It sounds quite time consuming to check photos and research age, especially with so many people wanting to buy online these days.

Agree but the temptation to abuse is very simple . I get someone older to buy a ST click a button and I make Hugh savings . No photo nothing !. I save £ 170.00. !. Others do it by match by match.

I agree, I can see how the abuse could work, although you'd like to think that fans who are keen enough to buy a season ticket wouldn't want to rip the club off. Sadly it does appear to happen. We used to verify ID at work via photo (the applicant had to attend in person), birth certificate, utility bill etc, this was connected to people working with children in the entertainment business, so had to be thorough - the paperwork could be quite time consuming though.

Or just get people using consessions to kindly enclose a photo to stop abuse. Most people would be complient. It don't matter if its a full paying adult on STs or it shouldn't.

Some clubs are a lot more positive in terms of you being able to give your ticket away if you cannot attend. The below policy has been copied from the Sutton United website: “I can’t make the match, can someone else use my ticket? Your ticket is yours to use - in the event that you cannot attend a particular game, it is accepted that you may wish to make use of your ticket by giving it to a family member or friend for that game “

Every club will have the odd idiot who tries to pull a fast one. Be honest, who at the age of 17 didn't try and get a 16 or under ticket for entry to somewhere at some point in their lives.
From what I see there are less turnstile operators who are only there in case there is an issue. Not sure they can be expected to keep an eye on 2 turnstiles at once and be policing ages of ticket holders. Unless the club/ticketmaster guarantee tickets working duplicates will always be an issue. Have they not got the technology to flag a ticket already being scanned. During the teething issues it was clear that a quick look at a ticket was good enough for admission. I hope that for this to be policed the tech is now up to scratch and turnstile operators can refuse you entry and send failed ticket holders off to a supervisor or ticket office

How are they going to Police the pushing in the North Stand? Send in a few Stewards? Can't see that going very well.
How are they abusing the ticket situation? Someone gets admitted and then they're finding a way of passing the ticket to someone not yet admitted?

I always thought that when it became possible to download a ticket to a mobile & just offer it up to a turnstile scanner, it could be easy to abuse the ticketing system, you are really relying on a person’s honesty not to defraud the club they say they support, perhaps having a operator by every scanner may help to discourage a few.
