Well Tilly two of my E-tickets didn’t scan, the emails weren’t proof nor was my bank statement showing the figures going out , it made me feel like a criminal after my eldest went through and the two other tickets didn’t scan. All were in my Apple Wallet but this wasn’t good enough until a Supervisor attended. Thanks to the two guys who stood with my son when I couldn’t initially get in with my youngest. Fuming isn’t the word as I looked like I was a Fare Dodger. BTW the Supervisor says the e scan fails to work most games with people. Joke when they accuse people of dodging, complaint will be going in tonight. That's not good, some of the stewards this season aren't very tuned in to how the systems etc work. Thank goodness you weren't sent back to the ticket office, also nice to hear that other fans looked out for your son who did get through the turnstile. Very poor that it isn't all working smoothly by now.

I’m assuming the system is capable of producing a list of season tickets used, in which case it ought to be a relatively straightforward job to check if one has been used twice. Hell, I’ll even do for them FOC! A quick warning phone call to the owner, followed by a ban if it happens again and problem solved, isn’t it? Maybe the system isn’t that sophisticated though and, admittedly it might not be as easy with individual match tickets. It could be matchday tickets, bought on the day, used, and then passed out through the fence for somebody else to use? The system has picked it up somehow, so hopefully they can expand on this, if the buyer is traceable. If it's on your phone then you just need to take a screenshot and send it on? Questions really need to be asked if we're using a system which allows more than one entry per ticket.

Yes, I was referring to be able to trace people, which I would think might be a bit more involved for people who bought a matchday ticket on the day, maybe using a prepayment card?

Totally agree, as I said to them all it done was make me look like someone ripping off the club, a email will be sent with copies of my tickets demanding an explanation as to why I was out in that position and to leave w child unattended in the ground.

Didn't you complain earlier in the season about the club promoting card payments over cash? Strange then that this has happened to you. I bought an E Ticket late last night when I decided to attend. I downloaded the Ticket QR to my Android wallet and it all worked a treat. I bought a couple of drinks in the ground using my bank card, no issues. If you download several QR code tickets to the same phone, I can see why that is tempting fate. I actually, if you did that, don't understand how you would get through the turnstile. If however you printed them off as paper copies then I cannot see why that would be an issue. Is that what you did, paper copies?

Quite simply Oldie the lady on the end turn style wouldn’t let me in , as I stated all tickets were downloaded as I have before into my wallet on my phone, as I do for flights and trains, plus every home game I’ve been to this season. It needed a supervisor to appear, if you’re calling me a liar I’m more than happy to discuss this face to face with you as there were other witnesses there. I’ll be in the Wellington before the next game. PM me.

But I can see downloading multiple tickets to one device might be problematic, especially given the club's reaction to stated ticketing abuse. Can I ask, if the first QR code is scanned from the device you downloaded to, and that person gets through, with the device in hand, how does the next person get through, given that they don't have the device to hand?

The device was on hand, first Qr code worked second two didn’t, looking at the three codes I couldn’t differentiate between the three. I will be emailing the club and attaching them asking why it didn’t work. Tickets are on a IPhone 14 that’s running latest IOS and all apps etc fully updated this morning before I caught the train. Device was in my hand as boys are eight and thirteen, I always scan for them and stand behind.

going in yesterday (East Terrace), there was guy with some sort of eticket on there phone (had a barcode) and it just kept turning red. Lady said he had to go to the ticket office. Must have tried the barcode a dozen times. It appeared he was with someone having a similar problem in the next turnstile.
Not sure what the resolution to the problem was, as I got myself in. Would be interesting o know how many problems there were yesterday

Perhaps TG or Pete could confirm how many fans had to get assistance from supervisors yesterday at the turnstiles and how many of those were shown to be fans attempting to abuse the system?
Perhaps the club thought were fans trying to abuse the system when it's just genuine fans trying to get in?

I think the club have said people who abuse the system will be banned indefinitely, so hopefully that will sort things. Not sure it will for this set of fans as they'll just get their mates to buy their tickets in future? If there's no check on fans ID's then how will the club enforce any ban? How does the club deal with people with banning orders?

How does the club deal with people with banning orders? There’s a difference between an official football banning order and a club ban I believe. An official football banning order is enforced by the the police, why is why you’ll often see them looking round the pubs on a match day.

I think banning orders enforced by the Police include the individual having to check into a Police Station at say, 3.30pm? At least they used to.

The club have introduced a whooping 5 games at £ 10 for division one football. Surely you’re not justifying ripping the club off?. Additionally they have done a A B C price category which means people who struggle ( I understand ) can choose the games and pay a cheaper price. I know a bloke who paid £50 for 5 games ! . The club also done a 10 match mini at £150 which includes all the cat A games. Firstly, the club needs to do better at marketing as I was unaware of any of those schemes. If they were better value for money than going as a senior or youth, then why would someone not do it?! I don’t see it as ripping the club off, I see it as people taking advantage of a loophole. Things that in my opinion are basically the same: Not scanning vitamins/ pricey items at the supermarket. Picking up a £5 note and not handing it in. Not correcting someone when they undercharge you. Taking more penny sweets that you pay for. Not ticking a box on a tax form to avoid tax. Claiming non dom status to avoid tax. Getting paid cash to avoid VAT. The list goes on and on and to be honest I would wager a huge majority of people have done something off the list above or similar. The faux outrage on here about a tiny minority of fans taking advantage of the poor ticketing system is laughable! 2 out of these three are actually illegal. Picking up a fiver - Covered by the law of 'Finders Keepers' as it cannot be identified who it is. Picking up a wallet, should be handed in to the police or customer liason. The other examples - taking too many sweets and being under charged. You may not know this but in some organisations, they charge the employees for shrinkage. Using a mates season ticket is justifiable. Using a mates e ticket and knowing your mate is also using it is outrageous. They should be named and shamed. Buying a ticket in a different age group is also out of order. Not as outrageous as using the same ticket twice but they have lied about their age.

Questions really need to be asked if we're using a system which allows more than one entry per ticket. Completely agree. Is this a ticket master issue or a Rovers issue? If it is a ticket master issue, does that mean every ticket they send out for any event can be scanned more than once?

With any England home tickets it’s a one and done situation. Once that tickets scanned, paper or mobile then it’s dead.

It's probably just our dodgy (cheapest will do?) system, if you go to an O2 venue they usually use barcode scanners I've never seen similar card readers used elsewhere.

At the pub for our pre match pint, the table next to us were discussing the matter.
They suggested that if the club is thinking of introducing a policy that you have to pay to get in, shouldn't that also apply to the players and high up club officials who get complimentary tickets?
I bet there must have been well over a 100 comps for the Scunthorpe game, when lots of Rovers fans missed out.
If the WAGS, family and mates had to pay for some of the best seats that would generate quite a few thousand each season.
